[Fukuoka Tonkotsu Ramen] Popular with families in a highly competitive area! A restaurant with unusual side dishes that are also a hot topic (Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.
This time I would like to introduce "Yokozuna Ramen" located along National Route 202. It is my favorite ramen shop and I have been visiting it since I was a child.
Ramen hotspot! "Yokozuna Ramen" (Fukuoka City, Nishi Ward) has been popular with families for many years
Yokozuna Ramen is located in Fukushige, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City. If you head west on National Route 202 from the center of Fukuoka City, you will find it on the left just before the Fukushige JCT.
The exterior has a Showa retro feel. Look for the bowl of rice with a Yokozuna's mawashi on it!
This area is famous among locals as a ramen hotspot. There are so many ramen shops lined up that you can see several just by looking around from the front of the shop. And at lunchtime, all the shops are full, which is also surprising.
Inside the restaurant, there is a long kitchen and counter seats at the front, and raised tatami seats on both sides. The tatami seats are very useful when you are with your family. The restaurant is crowded with families on weekends at lunchtime.
A unique garnish service! Shredded cabbage, the perfect accompaniment for ramen
At Yokozuna Ramen, they offer a unique service of serving shredded cabbage as a side dish with their ramen. This cabbage has a refreshing taste with a hint of vinegar, making it the perfect accompaniment to ramen!
I've been going to this ramen shop since I was a child, and it always seemed so normal to me that I was surprised that other ramen shops didn't serve cabbage, so this is a nice extra service!
A light yet addictively delicious ramen soup
This time I ordered "Bean Sprout Ramen" (800 yen).
The soup is a light, slightly sweet soy sauce tonkotsu. The fat on top enhances the flavor even more! It has an addictive taste that is somehow reminiscent of nostalgia.
The noodles are thin, typical of Hakata, and you can taste the wheat. The hot soup clings to the noodles perfectly, making it delicious! Eating shredded cabbage in between makes it refreshing, and it's a very satisfying ramen that you could eat forever♪
Yokozuna Ramen is a great place to come and relax with your family, so please give it a try. (Text by Hakata Aya.)
