[Yakuin Cafe] A special sweet experience! A luxurious dessert plate to enjoy with all five senses, with a "hidden feel"

Hello. I'm Ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious sweets. I love cafes and have visited a total of 2,000 cafes so far.

This time, we will introduce you to a cafe in Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, where you can enjoy some special sweets.

The hideaway-like atmosphere is wonderful! Assiette dessert specialty cafe "Ni to Ni" (Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Ni to Ni is located in the Yakuin Building, a four-minute walk from Yakuin Odori Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line. It opened at the end of May 2024.

When you go up to the second floor, you will see a cute purple door with a "Ni to Ni" sign. There is a chime on the door, but please just enter without pressing it.

By the way, the address of this building is 2-2-2, and it is also Room 202, so the restaurant was named after this number because there are many "2's" in the number.

The owner, Mikoda-san, is a pastry chef who has worked at Hotel Nikko Fukuoka, Bleu Foncé, and REC COFFEE, and he uses his experience to create original sweets.

This cafe specializes in assiette desserts. Assiette means plate and dessert means dessert in French, and assiette dessert refers to a style of serving multiple desserts or sweets on one plate, fresh as they are.

He opened this shop to spread the "appeal of organic ingredients" that he realized through running events that serve desserts, and also because he wanted people to "enjoy freshly made desserts made with seasonal ingredients."

The interior of the restaurant is compact, with counter seats and three tables.

If you sit at the counter you can see the sweets being made, so I highly recommend it!

The "Ni to Ni" sign and the cute illustrations inside the shop were drawn by the owner's child.

Luxurious! Assiette dessert and drink pairing

They are particular about pairing their carefully selected drinks, and their main menu item is the "Pairing Set" (from 2,200 yen).

You can choose one of each from several types of assiette desserts (on the day there were ones made with white peach, melon, watermelon, etc.) and drinks.

White peach tart, sweet koji ice cream

The assiette dessert I chose was "White peach tart with sweet koji ice cream" (set price + 600 yen). The main dessert is a white peach tart that is only available during the peach season (until around mid-August).

Rose tea custard is placed underneath white peaches marinated in white wine syrup. The tart dough that holds it is made with organic wheat flour from Yame City's Tanaka Flour Mill and baked to a moist finish. There is also coconut meringue on top. This is also crispy and delicious!

It is served with strawberry flavored tea and red wine jelly. It is also topped with whipped cream made with "Pure Cream" from Omuta City's "Ohm Dairy." Eating it with white peach is just too delicious!

The sweet koji and yogurt ice cream had a gentle sweetness. Everything was perfectly balanced and very delicious.

Gruyère de Comté Basque cheese

This is the classic assiette dessert, "Gruyere de Comté Basque cheese."

It is topped with Basque cheesecake made with Kyushu cream cheese, white wine jelly, seasonal fruit, and a sprinkling of cheese from Kama City's Cacio Cheese Factory, and is topped with whipped cream made with Ohm Dairy's Pure Cream.

The fruits on this day were passion fruit and fig, served with cinnamon ice cream.

fruit punch

This is the classic assiette dessert "Fruit Punch" (set price plus 500 yen), which I ordered out of curiosity.

The wine glasses filled with seasonal fruits, white wine jelly, herb jelly, white wood ear mushrooms, and tapioca in syrup are simply beautiful!

To finish, champagne or soda. I ordered soda, but if you like alcohol, I recommend champagne.

It's also packed with white wood ear mushrooms, which are said to be a medicine for longevity! The bouncy yet crunchy texture is irresistible.

Chocolate Gateau "Ni to Ni"

The classic assiette dessert named after the store is "Gâteau au Chocolat "Ni to Ni".

Just hearing about the ingredients in this rich gateau au chocolat tells you how much care has gone into making it: chocolate terrine made with red wine, red wine and black currant confiture, red wine, clove and black pepper sauce, Amazonian cocoa and cornflower meringue, Amazonian cocoa sorbet, and Amazonian cocoa crumble.

Just looking at it makes me feel enchanted.

By the way, the drink I chose this time was grape juice.

This 100% juice is made from grapes grown in Shiwa Town, Iwate Prefecture, which have been aged for six months, and contains no added sugar or food additives. It has a very rich and soft texture, and is sure to satisfy you with its flavor.

In addition to coffee, black tea, and herbal tea, you can also pair your drinks with alcohol, such as wine by the glass (+300 yen) or champagne (+600 yen).

Take-out is also available! Baked goods soaked in butter

They also have baked goods available for takeout, which you'll want to buy as souvenirs. *The lineup changes depending on the day.

Among them, the "Financier" (350 yen) is my favorite! The rich aroma of butter and almonds is irresistible, and when freshly baked, the outside has a crispy texture.

The "Madeleine" (350 yen), which has a moist buttery flavor, is also very delicious.

"We do our best every day to prepare so that everyone who comes to our store can forget about their daily lives and enjoy conversation and desserts!" says Mikoda.

They also have single drinks, alcoholic beverages, and appetizers, so feel free to drop by.

Please enjoy pairing this delicious assiette dessert with a drink. (Text by ayu.latte)
