Huge queues from the first day! "Dako", another brand of "Amamu Dakotan", opens in the Tenjin area

Hello! I'm Aya Hakata, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

dacō, a new brand created by Hirako Ryota, the owner and chef of popular Fukuoka restaurants that always have long lines, such as AMAM DACOTAN, I'm donut?, and DACOMECCA, opened its long-awaited first Fukuoka store in Imaizumi, Chuo Ward on Thursday, July 18, 2024!

The long-awaited first arrival in Fukuoka! "dacō Fukuoka", another brand of "AMAM DACOTAN" (Imaizumi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

"Dacō Fukuoka" has opened in Imaizumi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It is about a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the Subway Kuko Line, and right in front of the Nishitetsu bus stop Imaizumi 1-chome. If you head from Tenjin towards Akasaka on the National Sports Festival Road, past the "Don Quijote Fukuoka Tenjin Main Store," you will see it on your left♪

The bakery cafe is primarily for eat-in customers, but take-out is also available. It's close to Kego Park, so you can enjoy the bread you've purchased there and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere.

The Fukuoka-based bakery "AMAM DACOTAN" is now a hugely popular store in Tokyo as well, but its other brand "dacō" has already opened stores in Sakurashinmachi and Ochanomizu in Tokyo, with the Fukuoka store being its third location.

The concept is "a bakery cafe where bread and drinks are the main focus," with the hope that customers can sit down and enjoy themselves in the midst of their busy daily lives.

As you enter the store, you will see about 40 types of bread lined up on your right. It's great that they have a wide selection of savory breads as well as sweets! They also have a newly developed drink menu with about 30 carefully selected drinks. They are proposing a bakery cafe like no other.

All of the bread at "dacō" is slightly small in size, which is a consideration to allow customers to sample a little bit of each type and enjoy a casual, luxurious feeling.

The shelves inside the display case are like drawers, and the way the bread is removed is very stylish, making you want to look at it forever! Bread is reasonably priced, starting from 200 yen, so be sure to try out a variety of breads.

After ordering your bread and drink in front of the display case, you collect your items and proceed to the back.

Just ahead is a spacious seating area where even one person can relax, and going further in, you'll be surprised at how spacious the eat-in space is! There are about 40 seats in total.

Each dacō store has a different theme, but all of them use earth colors. The interior of "dacō Fukuoka" has an antique motif. It is simple yet sophisticated, and has a quiet, hideaway-like atmosphere that makes it hard to believe it is in the city center. Please enjoy the stylish space as well!

I was enchanted by the small yet satisfying breads.

This is what I had this time! They are particular about making it fresh, and they give it the finishing touches like re-baking and squeezing cream on it just before serving.

The "Dako Burger" (396 yen), which may be small but is packed with deliciousness and is synonymous with "Dako", is a sandwich of spicy homemade sausage, turnip, tomato, and alfalfa.

The balance between the flavor of the sauce and the ingredients is perfect! The crunchy alfalfa adds a nice accent and makes it very tasty. It's small but very satisfying.

"Honey Toast Muscat" (253 yen) is a perfect match of rich, sweet, smooth cream and refreshing, juicy Muscat.

"Honey Toast with Figs" (253 yen) was also very delicious!

The "Raw Donuts" (231 yen) are slightly smaller than those sold at "I'm Donut?", so they are recommended for people who want to try a variety of donuts! They have a chewy yet fluffy texture that melts in your mouth. The bubbly texture is also interesting, and they are so delicious that you will want to eat as many as you like♪

dacō Fukuoka's original drink, the Mixed Berry Dacōgurt (715 yen), is a drink made with yogurt and fresh cream. It's not as sweet as it looks, and the sourness of the berries makes it refreshing and easy to drink, and it goes perfectly with sweet bread!
