The shaved ice showcases the skills of our pastry chefs! A stylish cake shop with a popular eat-in option (Iizuka City)

Hello. I'm Yuri and I love stylish cafes and sweets.

This time, we will introduce a very popular cake shop in Iizuka City.

Eat-in available too! A cozy and stylish cake shop, "Patisserie POULE MOUILLÈ" (Iizuka City)

Patisserie POULE MOUILLÈ is located about a 5-minute drive from JR Shin-Iizuka Station.

This shop is well-known for its stylish and cute cakes made by a chef from a famous hotel in Fukuoka, with a focus on ingredients and flavor.

The light blue exterior is a landmark.

On the day I visited, there were cakes lined up that made with plenty of seasonal ingredients, such as "Seasonal Tart" (550 yen), "Okinawa Pineapple Tart" (540 yen), "Tarte Tatin" (510 yen), and "Plumoillet" (500 yen).

Custom-made cakes are also popular, with many people ordering them for their children's birthdays.

There are also many sweets that would make great souvenirs, such as "Creme Caramel" (300 yen), "Fresh Canelé" (320 yen), and "Choux à la Creme" (300 yen)♪

This restaurant offers take-out as well as eat-in options.

The cafe space is filled with natural light through the large windows, creating an open and stylish space.

If you use the cafe space, you must order one drink.

The menu includes a variety of carefully selected drinks, including blends from Adachi Coffee, a specialty coffee shop with its main store in Okawa City, and teas from Amsh Tea, a tea shop in Osaka.

The presentation is like art ♡ Exquisite cakes to enjoy at the eat-in counter

If you choose to eat in, the cakes in the display case will be presented on a plate, and will be authentically decorated like desserts at a high-end restaurant.

The cake is topped with crushed nuts and crumbles to add texture, and is topped with a rich mango and berry sauce. It's so gorgeous you'll want to take a photo!

Here are the five classic cakes we received this time.

First up is "Grand Chocolat" (500 yen), which uses two types of chocolate mousse, vanilla bavarois, and chocolate financier dough.

The chocolate mousse has a bitter, mature taste, and the bavarois adds a smooth texture.

"Tremolo" (520 yen) features an impressive refreshing light blue heart shape.

This unique flavor combines roasted green tea mousse, chestnut bavarois with the sweetness and bitterness of chestnuts, and the sourness of blackcurrant jelly. The texture of the chopped chestnuts adds an accent.

The gap between appearance and reality is also interesting.

The pink cake in the foreground of the photo is "Picasso" (520 yen).

When you break the white chocolate capsule on top, a berry sauce will come out, and you can enjoy the change in taste and color.

My 6-year-old daughter's favorite was the "Gâteau au Chocolat" (photo left, 430 yen).

The ice is so fluffy! It's a taste I've never experienced before that doesn't even feel like shaved ice.

It is topped with strawberry sauce and has custard cream and vanilla ice cream in the middle.

It is then decorated with fresh cream, topped with fruit pulp, and meringue cookies to add texture.

It was very filling and I was full!

Personally, I like the fact that it doesn't make my head tingle.

This is "Mango" (1,400 yen).

Ice cream that doesn't melt! Kudzu mochi candy with a strange texture

Another thing we want you to pay attention to is the “non-melting” ice cream that was newly released in June 2024!

These "Kuzumochi Candy" (300 yen each) are regular ice cream coated with kuzu powder.

There are six flavors available: strawberry milk, mango, mandarin orange, adzuki bean, watermelon, and fruit punch.

The photo shows "Fruit Punch" and "Tangerine". They look colorful and cute ♡ There's plenty of fruit inside.

When frozen it has a frost-like texture, but over time it changes to a chewy, jelly-like texture.
