[Kurume] A dining bar serving delicious food with portions bigger than you can imagine!
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
Before we get to the main topic, I have a question: "Are you eating enough vegetables?"
I've found a restaurant where I can easily and deliciously consume my veggies whenever I feel like it, so let's go check it out.
Opening in June 2024! Cafe & Dining Bar KUSUMI (Kurume City) serves up hot chopped salad lunches
So, I headed to Cafe & Dining Bar KUSUMI in Higashimachi, Kurume city.
The exterior is a little hard to find, so to be honest, many people may not even know that there is a restaurant here.
In fact, the shop opened on June 6, 2024. They haven't done much publicity at all, so it's still not well known.
But I'm sure it will become a popular restaurant once its recognition increases.
From 11am to 3pm, chopped salads and coffee are served for lunch, and from 6pm to 1am, the restaurant becomes a dining bar where you can enjoy creative Western cuisine and drinks.
As far as I know, a dining bar that focuses on lunch is probably rare, even in Kurume.
There is a counter and sofa seats on the first floor, and table seats on the second floor.
The ceiling has skylights, so the atmosphere at night seems nice.
It was raining that day so I didn't take any photos, but I'd like to come back at night.
Now let's take a look at the menu.
The main dish for lunch is chopped salad. There are two types: "Mexican Spicy" (1,200 yen) and "Classic Salad" (1,150 yen). There is also a "Custom" menu where you can choose your favorite "base" and "side". If you're hungry, you might want to change the "base" to "wild rice".
The most popular dish is the "Classic Salad."
The bowl is so big that I wondered if I could finish it.
The base is made of spinach and lettuce, and the side is piled high with grilled chicken, corn, tomatoes, and croutons.
Pour on the Parmesan Caesar dressing and mix from the bottom of the bowl.
There might be a trick to mixing it a bit.
But it's also fun to mix it up with people who are unfamiliar with the game.
Now that it's mixed well, let's eat it.
Wow, it far exceeded my expectations.
To be honest, I was a bit skeptical because I thought salad alone wouldn't be enough to fill me up...
When I finished this, I was already full.
It contains chicken so it's very filling, so even those with big appetites can order it with confidence.
By the way, the "Mexican Spicy" (lettuce, avocado, grilled chicken, red onion, etc.) uses Mexican honey dressing.
Depending on how you customize it, you can make a variety of chopped salads!
For lunch, you can also add a drink to your set for an additional 200 yen, or a dessert for an additional 300 yen.
Cheers with non-alcoholic "Lemon Squash" and "Homemade Ginger Ale"!
A continuous stream of impressions! The creative Western cuisine in the evening is also packed with attention to detail
This time we were given a special dinner menu.
My personal recommendation is the "Chicken Thigh Confit" (1,430 yen).
By cooking at a low temperature for a fairly long period of time, the meat becomes incredibly tender.
You can also just bite into it as it is.
You can also eat it elegantly with a knife and fork.
This is seriously delicious.
It's moist and full of flavor, with plenty of meat juice, so it's easy to see why it's the perfect snack to go with an alcoholic drink.
Speaking of snacks, we also recommend the "Kagoshima Black Pork Rillette Crostini" (660 yen).
The scent of oregano is fluffy ...
Ah, this is the kind of thing that I can have refills of forever.
This is dangerous when drinking alcohol.
It has a strong chicken ham flavor and is a great snack.
The manager also recommends "Kusumi's Fried Chicken" (880 yen).
The batter is quite crunchy and has a distinctive texture, while the filling is so moist and fluffy that it's hard to believe it's made with chicken breast.
I'm not normally one to put lemon on things, but I'd actually like to put it on this.
It feels like it's been a while since I've come across fried chicken that is truly delicious.
If you feel like finishing off your meal with something delicious, the "Roman Carbonara" (1,100 yen) might be a good choice.
The portions are relatively small, but the quality is very high and it tastes like you're at a high-end restaurant.
I want to come back just to eat this pasta.
I don't think you'll ever come across a carbonara that's this impressive.
This is a restaurant that puts a lot of effort into its food, so I have a feeling that it will become a very popular place once it becomes known. Please give it a try! (Text by Yorimitsu)
