This time, we will introduce you to some delicious shaved ice with a snow-like texture that can be enjoyed in Kokura.

"Yuki no Kaori (Snowy Fragrance)" is a shaved ice specialty restaurant located inside "Koraa Gen" (a restaurant specializing in motsunabe and mizutaki) (Kajicho, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

"Koraa Gen" is a specialty motsunabe and mizutaki restaurant located about a 1-minute walk from Kitakyushu Monorail Heiwadori Station and about a 5-minute walk from JR Kokura Station. From June 7, 2024, it will open as a shaved ice specialty restaurant "Yuki no Kaori YUKI NO KAORI" from 11:30 to 16:00. It is a seasonal restaurant and the end date has not been decided.

It used to be open within "Koraa Gen" only during the summer and was so popular that people would line up, but it was closed last year when "Koraa Gen" relocated and renovated, so this is its long-awaited return after two years!

By the way, you can also order "Yuki no Kaori" shaved ice during the evening hours when the restaurant operates as "Koraa Gen."

Fluffy snow-like shaved ice filled with plenty of ripe fruit!

The shaved ice at "Yuki no Kaori" has a fluffy texture just like snow, and melts away as soon as you put it in your mouth.

They shave the milk ice using a unique method that differs from traditional shaved ice.

There are eight different types to enjoy, including impressive shaved ice made with selected fruits, and Japanese-style shaved ice with flavors such as matcha and black sesame.

There are also nine different toppings to choose from, so you can customize it to your liking.

[Limited Time Offer] Pineapple YUKI

The most recommended item is "YUKI Pineapple" (1,700 yen). *End date is undecided (depending on fruit availability)

A generous amount of ripe pineapple carved into a ball is placed on top of fluffy ice.

It's topped with fresh cream and yogurt ice cream! Once you try it, you'll be hooked.

It was so delicious that I asked a staff member about it, and he told me that the pineapples they purchase are carefully selected from a greengrocer, and are perfectly ripe.

This has been on the menu for some time, but this year it was the tastiest yet!

Strawberry YUKI

Another dish I would like to order again is the "Strawberry YUKI" (1,600 yen).

It's packed with so many strawberries that you can't even see the ice, making it a very filling treat.

It uses two types of strawberries: fresh strawberries and strawberries soaked in homemade syrup.

It went perfectly with the thick cream, and I felt happy with every bite.

"Melon YUKI" (1,800 yen) is a cake topped with plenty of melon, cream and yogurt ice cream. It's so cute, it's exciting! *End date undecided (depending on fruit availability)

The ripe melon was very sweet, and when combined with ice and cream, it was a dreamy taste!

Everything I ate was so delicious that my friend and I kept saying, "We want to go again!"
