[Yanagawa] A new shaved ice shop with a patissier's supervision! "The milk ice with lots of fruit is exquisite"
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
Shaved ice season is finally here.
Apparently a wonderful "evolved shaved ice specialty store" opened in Yanagawa City in June 2024, so I'd love to check it out.
Limited time only! "Hori no Kajitsu Fukuoka" (Yanagawa City) is a shaved ice shop that uses milk ice supervised by a pastry chef and is full of fruit.
So that's how I arrived at Sakamotocho in Yanagawa City.
"Koori no Kajitsu" is a brand of shaved ice made with original milk ice and fruit, supervised by a pastry chef. It is currently open for a limited time (until the end of October) inside the old-style cafe "BISTRO tanabata".
You can park your car in front of the store, and there is a large torii gate of Hiyoshi Shrine on your right.
Turning further to the right,
A second parking lot is available.
There are two signs in front so please park there.
Well then, I'll be off.
The interior of the store is a renovated old house.
There is a Japanese garden outside the window, creating a relaxing and quiet space where you can relax.
The menu of "Hino Kajitsu" looks like this. Some people may think the prices are a little high, but I think they are about average for shaved ice specialty stores these days.
By the way, you can still order lunch, drinks, sweets, etc. at "BISTRO tanabata" as usual.Click here for the article on "BISTRO tanabata")。
Highly refined for adults to enjoy! Two types of exquisite shaved ice that will convince you once you try them
This time, I ordered the "Melon Ice" (1,980 yen) and the "Kumamoto Prefecture Japanese Chestnut and Houjicha Ice" (2,200 yen).
Let's start with the "Melon Ice." I was surprised the moment it was placed on the table.
It's so filling that you can't even see the shaved ice as it's filled with so much melon.
The shaved ice also has a strong melon scent and is delicious.
The mascarpone cream is a nice accent.
It's made from milk ice, so it melts a little quickly, but you'll find yourself getting addicted to it and continuing to eat it.
The melon used is very sweet, so it's very satisfying.
The melon is big enough to be enjoyed on its own.
And here is the "Kumamoto Prefecture Japanese Chestnut and Houjicha Ice."
The amount of Mont Blanc is amazing!
This is irresistible for chestnut lovers.
It's also a highly-finished dessert.
The gentle sweetness of Japanese chestnuts and the aroma of roasted green tea harmonize in your mouth.
Perhaps because it's milk ice, it doesn't make your head feel numb, and it's crunchy and easy to eat.
The shaved ice is smooth and snow-like.
It's not just a Mont Blanc thread draped over it.
There is roasted green tea sauce inside, so you can enjoy different flavors.
The sweetness was modest overall, and the aroma of roasted green tea really stood out, making it a dessert that adults could enjoy as well.
I think there will be a lot of people flocking here this summer.
Why don't you go and check it out? (Text by Yorimitsu)
