Directly connected to Hakata Station, yet feels like a hideaway! Weekday-only afternoon tea at this stylish cafe (Fukuoka City)

This time, we'll introduce a wonderful afternoon tea we found at Hakata Station.
Directly connected to Hakata Station! New York-style cafe lounge "TIME NEST" inside the wedding venue "The Strings Hakata" (KITTE Hakata, 11th floor)
Directly connected to JR Hakata Station, the wedding venue "Hakatagi Granhuli" on the 11th floor of "KITTE Hakata" was rebranded and reopened as "THE STRINGS HAKATA" on March 1, 2024.

Among them, the New York-style cafe lounge "TIME NEST" opened on March 6, 2024. It is open only on weekdays (closed on Tuesdays). You can enjoy a gorgeous "afternoon tea" made with plenty of seasonal fruits and prepared by a wedding pastry chef.
The spacious restaurant has 50 seats, mostly sofa seats. The stylish space is decorated with wood and stone, and you can enjoy a high-quality, adult atmosphere.

By the way, we were kindly allowed to take a quick look at the wedding venue; the chapel, which was designed to resemble a row of zelkova trees, and the banquet hall, which had three rooms (including one with a view of Fukuoka city!) were all breathtakingly beautiful spaces!

Afternoon tea requires a reservation and is limited to two hours.
The menu changes with the season, and the "Juicy Fruit Afternoon Tea - Early Summer Collection" will be available until Friday, June 28, 2024.
12:00-17:00 (last entry 17:00) (2-hour limit, last entry 30 minutes before closing), 4,500 yen per person.

You can enjoy six early summer sweets made with plenty of fruits such as melon, shine muscat, and white peach, three savory dishes, two types of scones, and free-flow drinks.
The man behind the creation is the in-house pastry chef, Takashi Nitta, whose love of sweets led him to switch careers from a different industry to become a pastry chef about 10 years ago.
Each sweet is carefully crafted to be as beautiful as a jewel and with an exquisite sweetness.

The top three desserts
Lined up on the top tier are three types of cakes: "Muscat Tartlet" made with fresh Shine Muscat grapes, the beautiful "Peach and Almond Blancmange" with white peach fruit and jelly layered on top of almond blancmange, and the refreshing "Lemon Gateau Opera" with lemon butter cream and lemon ganache sandwiched between them.

When you think of afternoon tea, you imagine a row of petit gateaux, but the cakes here are also quite large, which is great!
The Muscat Tartlet is palm-sized.
The light and crispy tart and lightly sweet cream bring out the deliciousness of the Shine Muscat grapes.

Middle row: 3 kinds of sweets
The middle tier features three flavors: "Peach and Raspberry Mousse" with a hint of rose flavor, "Melon Trifle" made with a luxurious amount of fresh melon, and the vibrantly colored "Passion Mango Macaron."

The "Peach and Raspberry Mousse" is also a very impressive size. It has a fruity taste and melts in your mouth.

"Melon Trifle" is a dish of sponge cake and cream topped with small melon balls.
The mellow and refreshing taste made me feel the arrival of early summer.

Bottom row: 3 types of savory dishes
The bottom tier is savory (light meals).
The three dishes are "Pain Perdu with Foie Gras Terrine and fig Compote," "Blini with Smoked Salmon and French Caviar," and "Chrysanthemum and Potato Mousselet Baguette."
Not only is the beautiful appearance exciting, but you can tell that each one is carefully crafted to taste. It was the perfect snack to have between sweets.

Two types of special scones
There are two types of scones: plain and black tea. They are served freshly baked.
I was impressed by how light and crispy it was on the outside and moist inside!
It's delicious as is, but it also comes with salty clotted cream, white peach jam, and honey, so you can enjoy it in a variety of flavors.

My favorite is the clotted cream. It brings out the deliciousness of the scones even more, and the taste makes me smile.
A wide variety of free drinks
The afternoon tea set comes with a wide variety of free drinks, including tea and coffee. It also includes stylish mocktails, which is nice!

You can also order drinks other than the set, and for an additional 100 yen you can add ice cream as a topping.
