Crackling or fruit? [Ministop] Compare the three types of "Halo Halo" released in May!

I'm Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves convenience store sweets.

This time, we will introduce three popular "Halo Halo" sweets from Ministop. Two new products will be released on May 24, 2024, and one product that was very popular last year.

1: A fun texture! "Halo Halo Crackling Melon Cream Soda"

First up is the new "Halo Halo Crackling Melon Cream Soda" (440 yen).

The shaved ice is drizzled with syrup made from Shizuoka crown melon puree and is topped with mixed jelly, pineapple, nata de coco, crackling candy, and even Ministop's hugely popular vanilla soft serve ice cream.

I could hear the popping while I was taking the photos, and when I scooped up the soft-serve ice cream, I heard even the sound of candy popping!

It tastes like the nostalgic melon cream soda you'd get in a retro coffee shop. The popping candy spreads the refreshing feeling.

It also contains fruit and nata de coco, which adds variety to the texture and makes you want to keep eating it.

It was refreshing and perfect for a hot day.

2: Irresistibly sweet and sour! "Halo Halo Fruit Ice Strawberry"

Last year's popular product has been renewed, "Halo Halo Fruit Ice Strawberry" (440 yen). The condensed milk syrup has been changed, making it even more delicious.

Sliced frozen strawberry pulp is drizzled in condensed milk syrup and topped with soft serve ice cream.

The tart strawberries, sweet and rich condensed milk, and rich milk-flavored soft serve ice cream go together perfectly!

When eaten alternately, the flavors complement each other, creating a delicious taste that you will never tire of.

When you mix it all together, the sourness is toned down and it tastes like strawberry soft serve ice cream. The granular texture of the strawberries adds a nice accent.

Once the strawberries have melted a little, they become like a high-quality jam, which is also really nice.
