[Lunch in the Tenjin area] A great place for sightseeing in Fukuoka! Exquisite new noodles created by a Michelin chef

Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.

A popular restaurant run by a famous restaurant in a new spot that is also popular with tourists has introduced a new and exciting menu item.

A popular restaurant in Daimyo Garden City! "Nishimuraya" (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) run by a Michelin chef

"Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City" opened in 2023. Nishimuraya is located on the second floor and often has a line-up even on weekdays during lunch time.

This is a food theme park created by Chef Takahito Nishimura of Nishimura Takahito la Cuisine creativite, a one-star restaurant in the Fusion Category of the Michelin Guide Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition, located in Heiwa, Minami-ku, Fukuoka city.

The hugely popular "Nishimura Noodles," which express the worldview of this talented chef through noodle dishes, are only served during the day at the restaurant in Heiwa, Minami Ward (the restaurant's daytime name is "Nishimura Noodles"), but at Nishimuraya, they can be enjoyed at any time, which has made them an instant hit.

The restaurant has table seats and counter seats.

Available for a limited time only! "Mentaiko Carbonara Tsukemen" - a delicious way to enjoy Fukuoka's specialties

"Mentaiko Carbonara Tsukemen" (2,310 yen for a single item) is a limited-time menu item that was introduced on April 15, 2024. It was initially only available for one month, but has already proven very popular and is expected to be extended (check the restaurant's Instagram for the latest information).

The popular standard menu item "Yamaimo Carbonara Tsukemen" (1,780 yen) is topped with a generous amount of Nishimura's special Spicy Fish Eggs, making this a truly luxurious tsukemen! On top of the noodles are plenty of Parmesan cheese, egg yolk, thickly sliced bacon, shiso, thinly sliced baguette, and Spicy Fish Eggs. The visuals are also superb.

First, mix the noodles well. The yolk will split and your appetite will be whetted. Mix Spicy Fish Eggs in well!

Dive this into a soup containing mountain yam and Spicy Fish Eggs!

The thick yam soup clings to the noodles perfectly, making it incredibly delicious!

The saltiness of Spicy Fish Eggs and cheese combined with the mellowness of the egg made it impossible to stop eating.

Great as a single dish or as part of a course menu

This menu item can be enjoyed as a single item at lunchtime or in the evening, but this time I had it as one of the dishes in the "Nishimuraya Omakase Course" (5,500 yen), which is only available after 5:30 p.m.

It was a luxurious course consisting of 8 to 9 dishes, and the price was great value. Nishimura noodles were included as one of the dishes to choose from.

●Appetizer: Broad bean spring rolls, bite-sized croque madame, angel shrimp and celery rub, and prosciutto baguette platter. The croque madame topped with a small fried egg is one of the signature dishes.

●Tuna tartare: Sake-kasu and tuna mixed together. It's irresistible when served on the accompanying nori rice crackers!

● Bossam salad: Bossam, a popular boiled pork dish in Korea, is served in Nishimura-style. It is served with a dressing made with chili peppers instead of kimchi.

● Daikon mochi with freshly sliced prosciutto: The daikon mochi is made by slicing the daikon into thin strips to preserve its texture, and has a chewy yet crunchy texture. It is topped with prosciutto.

● White fish kadaif with tomato and basil sauce: The white fish of the day was sea bream. It was fried crispy with a batter of kadaif, a thin noodle-like dough that is said to be as thin as angel hair. It was topped with plenty of tomato and basil sauce!

●Domestic beef lean steak with red radish sauce: Steak shabu-shabu in a broth made from bonito, chicken, and kelp that's so delicious you'll want to drink it all up. Dip the tender meat in a vibrant red radish sauce.

● Choice of Nishimura noodles: In addition to the three standard menu items of "Pork Creamy," "Porcini Mushroom," and "Yamaimo Carbonara Tsukemen" (+500 yen), you can now also choose "Mentaiko Carbonara Tsukemen" (+880 yen).

● Freshly cooked carefully selected rice: Rice cooked a little hard in a small pot. This time, I poured the tsukemen soup and plenty of Parmesan cheese on it to make it like risotto, and enjoyed it as the final dish of the course.

●Nishimura's cheesecake, bite-sized butter sandwich, and coffee: The butter sandwich is a perfect combination of cream made from cultured butter, fragrant pistachios, and the sourness of raspberries. The gooey cheesecake and coffee are the perfect combination.

There was a wide selection of drinks available, from juices to wine, beer, champagne, whiskey and other alcoholic beverages.

On this day, there were two non-alcoholic drinks. The one on the right in the photo below is "Aran Miglia Merlot" (880 yen), a black grape juice. It has a good balance of sweetness and acidity, a rich grape aroma, and a strong flavor.

On the left is the "Non-alcoholic Sparkling Wine" (880 yen). Made from ripe Chardonnay from the south of France, it has a surprising taste that you wouldn't expect from a non-alcoholic drink. The refreshing bubbles lasted a long time and were very delicious. It felt special because it was poured right in front of me ♡

This time we introduced the dinner course, but what's great about Nishimuraya is that you can enjoy a meal at a reasonable price, with noodles starting at 1,200 yen and lunch courses priced at 2,500 yen.

Nishimuraya has added new menu items before Golden Week. It's the perfect destination for sightseeing in Fukuoka. (Text by ayu.latte)
