New releases include Unshu mandarin orange flavor! [Ministop] Compare and taste 3 new and classic Halo-Halo flavors
I'm Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves convenience store sweets.
This time, we will introduce three "Halo Halo" products from "Ministop". Two new products will be released on April 19, 2024, and one classic.
1: The fun, popping texture! "Halo-Halo Crackling Unshu Mandarin Soda"
First up is the new "Halo Halo Crackling Unshu Mandarin Soda" (440 yen).
This refreshing "Halo Halo" has the juicy Unshu mandarin oranges and the popping texture of candy.
The shaved ice is drizzled in syrup made from Unshu mandarin juice and is topped with mixed jelly, pineapple, yellow peach, nata de coco, crackling candy, and even more, Ministop's hugely popular vanilla soft serve ice cream.
The heart-shaped jelly is so cute♡
As you scoop the contents of the parfait with a spoon, you will begin to hear the faint sound of candy crackling.
When you put it in your mouth, the popping candy pops all at once! The sweet and sour taste of the Unshu mandarins combined with their juiciness makes it feel like you're drinking a mandarin orange-flavored carbonated drink! In addition, the refreshing mixed jelly and nata de coco are mixed with milky soft serve ice cream, allowing you to enjoy a variety of different flavors.
It has a nice aroma and a refreshing taste, making it the perfect cold dessert for hot days.
2: Enjoy a luxurious Japanese treat! "Halo-Halo Condensed Milk and Azuki Bean"
Another new product is "Halo-Halo Condensed Milk Azuki Bean" (440 yen).
The shaved ice is topped with condensed milk syrup, azuki bean paste made from Hokkaido azuki beans, and a vanilla soft serve ice cream.
The bean paste is cooked soft and fluffy, with a smooth texture and gentle sweetness. The shaved ice underneath is topped with a syrup containing condensed milk, giving it a rich and mellow flavor.
It goes perfectly with the rich, milky soft serve ice cream, and when eaten all together the flavor of each ingredient stands out, making it so delicious you won't be able to stop eating!
The small bean paste pieces add a nice accent.
It was sweet enough but refreshing. It was a luxurious "Halo-Halo" that allowed me to enjoy Japanese flavors.
