[Ohori Park Area] A popular baked goods store perfect for souvenirs that you'll want to tell everyone about (Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)

This time, I would like to introduce some recommended baked goods shops that can also be used as cafes.

Eat-in is also available! Bakeshop CANARIA (Otemon, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) offers about 10 kinds of baked goods

Bakeshop CANARIA, a baked goods store that opened in October 2023, is located about a 3-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the subway. Its bird (canary) logo is lovely.

The store is filled with baked goods such as muffins and scones.

There are 8 to 9 types of standard items and 1 to 2 types of daily sweets on display every day.

There is a cute eat-in space with 10 seats.

Popular menu items available for eat-in

They all looked delicious so it was hard to decide, but on this day I decided to try a menu item that was said to be particularly popular for eat-in.

Sweet and cream cheese muffins

The most popular item is the "Amaou and Cream Cheese Muffin" (470 yen), which uses plenty of seasonal Amaou strawberries. It is scheduled to be on sale until the end of May 2024.

The Amaou strawberries are picked in the morning at Maruhiro Farm, a strawberry farm in Hirokawa-machi, Yame-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. They are so fresh and luxurious!

The moist butter dough is made with plenty of sour cream and contains lightly sweet cream cheese.

The sweet and sour strawberries and rich cream cheese go perfectly together!

It's so delicious you should definitely try it at least once.

Plain scones

The "Plain Scone" (420 yen) is made using domestic wheat flour and fermented butter made from raw milk from Kyushu, and is crunchy on the outside and moist inside.

It's delicious just as is with the rich butter flavor, but we also recommend ordering the "Jam and Clotted Cream Set" (280 yen) and eating it with plenty of the jam (jam 150 yen, clotted cream 150 yen).

The gentle sweetness of the homemade clotted cream can only be enjoyed by eating in, so it's a must-try!

Just like the "Amaou Cream Cheese Muffins," the strawberry jam is homemade and made with plenty of Maruhiro Farm's strawberries, which have an exquisite balance of sweetness and sourness.

They also sell bottled "Strawberry Jam" (800 yen).

Salted caramel muffins

The "Salted Caramel Muffin" (450 yen) is a classic and popular item.

It has a moist and fluffy texture, far from the dryness that you might imagine when thinking of muffins.

The salted caramel flavor is exquisite! I also love the gentle sweetness.

Darjeeling and orange peel scones

"Darjeeling and Orange Peel Scone" (450 yen) is rich in the aroma of black tea. The orange peel adds a nice accent and is delicious.

If you are taking it out, we recommend heating it in a 500W microwave for 20 to 30 seconds before eating.

Drinks are also a highlight of the eat-in options

You can also enjoy wine and craft beer at the eat-in area.

The owner, a wine lover, has carefully selected drinks that go perfectly with the sweets, so be sure to enjoy pairing them together.

For "Tea" (550 yen by itself, 500 yen if ordered with a snack), you can choose your favorite tea only if it is hot (Darjeeling is the only option for iced tea).

It's nice to be able to choose the type of tea depending on the sweets you order and your mood that day. Coffee is also available.

Recommended as a gift

In addition to the paper bag shown in the photo, gift boxes (40 to 50 yen) are also available, so they are also recommended as souvenirs.
