[Kurume Lunch] Always a queue! A popular restaurant serving huge portions and great value for money "Seafood Bowl"

Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.

Recommended for those who like "Seafood Bowl"!

I'd like to introduce you to a restaurant in Kurume that offers excellent value for money and that I have personally visited five times.

"Uokuni" (Kurume City), a popular restaurant that is sometimes closed to customers

Our destination this time is "Uokuni," which is a 5-minute walk (1 minute by car) from "Yanagisakasone Hazenamiki," a popular autumn foliage spot in Kurume that is also designated as a natural monument of Fukuoka Prefecture.

"Chuyai Shokudo" offers a wide variety of lunch sets during the day, including eel dishes such as "Steamed in a bamboo steamer", and can be used as an izakaya in the evening. Since its establishment in 1972, it has been loved by locals for a long time.

The limited-edition lunchtime "Seafood Bowl" is especially popular!

There is a parking lot in front of the store, but it is always full during peak times, so we recommend going there early.

Please note that the seafood bowl you are looking forward to is not served in the evening.

The restaurant has table seating as well as tatami rooms, making it a convenient place to bring children.

What you should pay attention to is the large pond outside the window. Unfortunately it's raining in the photo, but it still gives off a sense of openness.

There are turtles and carp, including some carp as big as small tuna! You'll definitely be amazed when you see them.

Lunch hours are from 11:30 to 14:30. There are days when the store is closed due to procurement and delivery, so please check in advance before heading out.

In addition to the "Seafood Bowl" (1,400 yen), there are a variety of other dishes available, such as the "Pork Cutlet Set Meal" (1,100 yen), "Sashimi Set Meal" (2,000 yen), "Grilled Local Chicken Set Meal" (950 yen), and "Daily Set Meal" (850 yen *weekdays only).

These restaurants are known for their "full portions." On the back of the menu, there is a note that says, "If you think you won't be able to finish the rice, please let the staff know in advance." If you are concerned, please check when ordering.

A wide variety of sashimi is served in the delicious "Seafood Bowl"

The long-awaited "Seafood Bowl" (1,400 yen) is here. It's so impressive, you can't help but be enthralled. It comes with a miso soup set.

More than eight kinds of fresh sashimi are served daily, piled high on the plate! You have to dig quite deep to get to the rice.

What's more, each one is thick and satisfying to eat.

Personally, I like the fact that it comes with not only salmon roe but also flying fish roe.

The rice on this day was a regular portion, but... can you understand? The bowl was filled to the brim with rice.

If you don't usually eat a lot, you might want to order a small portion.

But it's so delicious that you'll finish it in no time. For 1,400 yen, the satisfaction level is quite high. No wonder it's such a popular restaurant.

I was surprised at how juicy the "Mentaiko Sasami Cutlet Set Meal" was.

I also ordered the Mentaiko Sasami Katsu Set Meal (950 yen). In addition to the main dish shown in the photo, it comes with rice and miso soup.

Just look at this. There's Spicy Fish Eggs inside! It's nice to see that they've put effort into even the smallest details.

It's so juicy!

I had always thought of chicken breast as being dry, so I wondered how they could make it taste like this. I was quite shocked at how delicious it was.

The "Seafood Bowl" is a must, but I'd also like to try the other set meals.

Please go and check it out! (Text by Yorimitsu)
