[Mojiko Retro Tourism] A craft beer specialty shop in front of the station with a selection of delicious dishes, perfect for lunch!
Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.
This time, we will introduce a craft beer specialty store that opened right in front of JR Mojiko Station.
This is a restaurant where you can enjoy not only beer but also meals from day to night.
Great for dining too! Craft beer specialty store "Craft Beer Hall Mojiko" (Minatomachi, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City)
"Craft Beer Hall Mojiko" is located on the first floor of "JP Mojiko Building", across the street from the fountain plaza in front of the station. It opened in February 2024.
The interior of the store is spacious and open, with a stylish yet warm atmosphere that blends in with the retro townscape.
In addition to table seating, there are also counter seats.
At the counter seats, you can enjoy your meal and drink while looking out over Mojiko Station.
And the most notable thing is the bar counter where you can order drinks.
You can enjoy three of the award-winning Mojiko Beer's standard products, Weizen, Pale Ale, and Sakura Beer (880 yen each), on tap, allowing you to enjoy the fresh taste of freshly brewed beer.
Apparently, this is the only place where you can enjoy these three types of beer other than Mojiko Beer's directly managed stores!
The menu includes dishes that go perfectly with beer.
In fact, "Craft Beer Hall Mojiko" is a sister store of "BEAR FRUITS," a popular restaurant serving Mojiko's local gourmet dish, "yaki-curry," and its second branch, the cafe "Milk Hall Mojiko."
Each shop offers popular items such as baked curry and pudding, making them a great place to stop by while sightseeing in Mojiko Retro.
Delicious food menu for beer and non-beer days!
I enjoyed the meal this time, so I'd like to share it with you.
The menu is full of delicious dishes that can be enjoyed not only with beer and other alcoholic beverages, but also when you're not drinking, too.
Original White Grilled Curry
The menu that particularly caught my eye was the "Original White Yaki Curry" (1,650 yen). There is also a set that comes with a pudding called the "White Yaki Curry and Mojiko Pudding Set (with coffee)" (2,540 yen).
This is a grilled curry covered in bechamel (white) sauce. It is cooked right in front of you over a burner, and the fragrant aroma will whet your appetite!
This is actually an adaptation of the signature dish "Super Yaki Curry" from our sister store "BEAR FRUITS." It was originally created as a staff meal in response to staff members saying that they didn't like spicy curry. Apparently it was very popular with the staff!
Under the bechamel (white) sauce is cheese and minced meat. The cheese in between keeps the texture creamy even after a while.
The egg yolk gives it a mellow, gentle flavor. It was so delicious that I wanted to take the aftertaste home with me.
Cherry blossom beer braised beef
"Beef stewed in Sakura beer" (1,650 yen) is, as the name suggests, beef stewed in Sakura beer. It is also served with colorful side dishes, making it a very gorgeous dish.
It was meaty enough, yet so soft that it just melted in your mouth.
Currywurst
"Currywurst" (990 yen) is a menu item that allows you to enjoy crispy grilled sausages and steaming hot potatoes.
The sauce also contains the beloved "Bikkuri Spice" from BEAR FRUITS, which adds a nice spicy kick to the rich flavor.
Keema Cory Tortilla
"Keema Curry Tortilla" (660 yen) is a dish made by combining homemade keema curry with mash and cheese, then baking it crisply in tortilla dough. The stretchy, melted cheese is the best!
Please eat it while it's hot.
Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
The "Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad" (880 yen) is a dish of a variety of vegetables topped with fragrant grilled chicken and nuts.
I enjoyed not only the taste but also the variety of textures. The homemade dressing was also delicious.
Don't worry if you can't drink beer! We also offer specially made non-alcoholic drinks
The main drink at this bar is craft beer, but they also have a wide selection of homemade non-alcoholic drinks.
This time I ordered a "Craft Lemon Squash" (770 yen) and a "Craft Cola" (770 yen).
Both were delicious and you could really taste the flavor of the ingredients! They were the perfect match for the dish.
Great as a gift! Pudding specialty store "Mojiko Principal"
Mojiko Principal is located inside Craft Beer Hall Mojiko.
This is a take-out specialty store for the extremely popular "Mojiko Pudding" sold at our sister store, "Milk Hall Mojiko."
In response to customer requests for "Mojiko Port Pudding to take home," the product is now available in a cute bottle (take-out 490 yen, eat-in 500 yen). *Available from 11:00 until sold out.
It had a strong egg flavor and an exquisite sweetness, which went perfectly with the slightly bitter caramel.
The texture is firm like the old days, but it also melts smoothly in your mouth. I can't get enough of it.
By the way, the puddings are handmade by the staff with great care. They make great gifts as well as treats for yourself!
On a sunny day, it's also nice to eat it by the sea.
Not only does it have a wide variety of food and drinks, but it's also conveniently located in front of Mojiko Station! Please come and visit. (Text by CHIHIRO)
