So popular that reservations are filled up two months in advance! "Perfect for special occasions" Luxury Lunch Course (Sakurazaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes and trying different gourmet restaurants.

This time, we will introduce a casual French restaurant that opened on February 23, 2024!

The concept is to "enjoy it little by little"! POCO A PETIT, a casual French restaurant with a distinctive blue exterior (Sakurazaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

POCO A PETIT is located in Sakurazaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, a 5-minute walk from Sakurazaka Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

The shop is quietly located in a residential area and is easily recognizable by its blue exterior.

The store name "POCO A PETIT" is a combination of the Italian "POCO A POCO" and the French "PETIT A PETIT," which mean "little by little."

The menu consists of small portions and many dishes, based on the desire to let customers enjoy a little bit of every bit of good quality ingredients.

The owner, who has studied mainly French cuisine but also Italian and Japanese cuisine, uses carefully selected ingredients to create a wide variety of dishes which you can enjoy in small portions (the photo below is of the lunch course).

The interior of the store has a chic and calm atmosphere, with a grey and wood motif.

"Appetizers" served in wooden boxes and a choice of "main dishes"! "Lunch courses" where you can enjoy a wide variety of dishes made with carefully selected ingredients

This time we will introduce the "Lunch Course" (3,500 yen per person). Reservations must be made by the day before and the course starts at 12:00.

The set menu includes a plate of nine appetizers, homemade bread, seasonal soup, a choice of main dish (one of three options, additional charges may apply for some menu items), a platter of three desserts, and coffee or tea.

The dishes are served in order starting with the appetizers.

"9 kinds of appetizer small dish plate"

It came in a box with a lid, and I was excited when it was delivered.

The inside is divided into nine sections, with nine different dishes lined up.

From the top left: strawberries and cream cheese, tomato caprese, and ginger marinated fish and burdock.

From the middle left, baguette with kumquat jam mustard, panipuri, and broccoli with anchovy sauce.

From the bottom left: Beni Haruka dauphinois, Wagyu roast beef, and pickled vegetables.

The contents may change depending on the day.

The panipuri on the middle tier is an Indian snack made of crispy dough stuffed with chunks of beans.

The tomato-based sauce and the savory flavor of the beans and dough went perfectly together.

The Beni Haruka Dauphinois on the bottom row is a local dish from southeastern France. While potatoes are generally used, this dish uses the sweet potato "Beni Haruka."

The surface was baked to a fragrant finish and the bottom was made up of many thin layers, giving it a soft texture and a gentle sweet potato flavor.

The vegetables are fresh and in season, sourced directly from Furuno Farm in Katsuragawa-cho, Kaho-gun, and Nishi Farm in Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City.

We were able to compare 3 or 4 different kinds of tomatoes, and they were all very sweet and delicious.

"Homemade bread" and "seasonal soup"

The bread baked in-house changes weekly, and the soup also changes with the season.

The soup of the day was made by combining aromatic red carrots, sweet sake, and cream, topped with cumin.

The creamy taste is accented by the unique flavor of cumin. It is also recommended to eat it with bread.

"Selectable main course"

You can choose from three main dishes.

Clockwise from the back left are "Shrimp Lasagna in American Sauce" (+300 yen), "Today's Fish Dish", and "Beef Cheek Braised in Red Wine" (+500 yen). *The photo was taken in March. The lasagna in the front left is not currently available.

This time I tried all three types, so I'll introduce them one by one.

"Shrimp Lasagna with American Sauce" combines chewy lasagna dough with shrimp American sauce.

The sauce is apparently made from stock extracted from lobster shells, and I was able to enjoy the rich shrimp flavor.

The bottom of the lasagna was covered with crunchy cheese, which gave it a great texture.

"Beef cheek stewed in red wine" is made with domestic beef cheek that has been stewed for 3 to 4 hours, combined with a rich sauce made with plenty of red wine, and served with mashed potatoes underneath.

It had such a tender texture that it was hard to believe it was meat. The sour, fruity sauce went perfectly with the flavor of the meat.

Today's fish dish was sauteed red snapper. Crispy fried red snapper with butterbur miso paste.

The flesh was fluffy and soft, accented by the crispy texture of the skin. The butterbur miso was a little spicy, and was addictively delicious.

"Assortment of 3 desserts" and "Coffee or tea"

The three-item dessert platter is all homemade, and from the left are buckwheat flour canelés, chiffon cake, and cheesecake. The canelés are a fixed selection, while the other two change weekly.

The canelés are made with 100% buckwheat flour, without using any wheat flour. The combination of buckwheat flour and rum creates a Japanese flavor and aroma, similar to that of sweet potato.

The outside was crispy, the inside melted in your mouth, and had a fragrant flavor. The savory flavor of the outside and the slightly bitter taste were perfectly balanced with the dough inside, making it so delicious that you'll want to eat several.

From the appetizers to the desserts, all the dishes were delicious and you could really feel the chef's passion.

It's perfect for everyday use, as well as for celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries. Reservations can be made two months in advance, but currently it is fully booked up to two months in advance. We recommend making a reservation early once your plans are decided (lunch reservations are only available online).

In the evening, the concept of "enjoying each bite little by little" remains the same, but guests can enjoy a different course meal than they do at lunchtime.
