[April 3-8, 2024] "Southern Treasure Box Kagoshima Exhibition" to be held at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store
The "Southern Treasure Box Kagoshima Exhibition" will be held at the 8th floor event hall of the main building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store from Wednesday, April 3rd to Monday, April 8th, 2024. This popular event will be held for the third time this year.
In addition to the classic "black pork" and "black beef," there will be an array of gourmet treasures, including original menu items exclusive to the "Treasure Box of the South Kagoshima Exhibition," for which buyers traveled to Kagoshima and successfully negotiated to set up a stall there, sweets that change daily, Kagoshima shochu, and popular shops on remote islands!
There will also be a food court where you can eat on the spot and enjoy the atmosphere of Kagoshima.

Sushi restaurant Minami Osumi
"Sushi Restaurant Minami Osumi" was created just for this "Southern Treasure Box Kagoshima Exhibition." Japanese cuisine artisans from Hakata will be preparing exquisite sushi using seafood such as "Nejime Golden Amberjack" and "Yellowtail" caught in Minami Osumi.
This is the "12 nigiri (4 kinds of golden amberjack, 3 kinds of yellowtail, 5 kinds of local fish)" (3,000 yen). *The contents may change depending on the availability of ingredients.
This artistic Hakata-style sushi is made with the finest seafood from Minami-Osumi, and the taste is a testament to the skilled craftsmanship.
The gorgeous "Nejime Golden Amberjack Special Bowl" (1,700 yen) will catch your eye. You can enjoy Nejime Golden Amberjack in five different flavors.
Beef cutlet Gyuta
Located in Kagoshima City, the popular "Gyukatsu Gyuta" restaurant uses Kagoshima brand beef and has opened a new store. It offers a hearty and satisfying menu.
The highlight is the "Kagoshima Meat Festival Summit Bowl" (2,160 yen). The luxurious combination of a fluffy and tender hamburger steak made from a mixture of Kagoshima Prefecture's Kuroge Wagyu beef and black pork, and a Kuroge Wagyu beef steak, is sure to excite you!
There is also a dream combination of eel from Kagoshima Prefecture, the number one producer of eel in Japan, and Kagoshima Prefecture's Kuroge Wagyu beef, called the "Osumi Eel and Kuroge Wagyu Beef Loin Bowl" (2,700 yen)!
Don't miss the "Kagoshima Black Pork Zori Katsudon" (2 pieces for 1,620 yen *1 piece is 1,080 yen), which is juicy deep-fried Kagoshima black pork loin in a thin batter. The secret sweet soy sauce-based sauce unique to Kyushu makes it perfect for eating with rice.
Menya Jiro
"Menya Jiro" has its main store in Ibusuki city, Kagoshima prefecture. It is a popular store with a track record including winning a popular vote at a ramen contest held in New York, and has eight stores both in Japan and overseas.
A must-try is their proud "Special Scorched Pork Bone Layer Flavor" (1,540 yen), which is made by adding a rich pork fillet sauce and scorched garlic to the base soup, which has been added to since the restaurant opened.
Self-satisfied and self-indulgent kitchen GOUTER
The popular South Indian restaurant "Self-Satisfied My-Style Kitchen GOUTER" in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture, has introduced the "Sakurajima Chicken South Indian Curry Plate" (1,300 yen), which uses Sakurajima Chicken produced in Kagoshima Prefecture.
You can enjoy the local style flavors that the owner learned in Bangalore, South India.

Farm Garden Sky
The popular product "Seasonal Fruit Gelato (Single)" (450 yen each) from the tourist farm "Farm Garden Sora" in Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture is now available. Each gelato is carefully handmade using fruits picked at the farm, such as strawberries, lemons, and blueberries.
Kirishima Confectionery Shop Morizo
Morizo, a Japanese and Western confectionery shop in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, has been in business since 1909. It operates seven stores in the prefecture.
We recommend checking out the "Shiawase Hot Dora Butter" (230 yen). A fluffy dora skin made from wheat flour produced in Kyushu is wrapped around red bean paste made from large Hokkaido Dainagon azuki beans and flavorful Calpis butter.
If you warm it up in the microwave, the melted butter will soak into the dorayaki, making it exceptionally delicious!
Akashiya, the original kanko
When talking about Kagoshima's famous sweets, you can't miss "Karukan Manju." The original "Akashiya" is coming!
The "Karukan Manju" (195 yen each), which is a sweet bean paste wrapped in light jelly, has a rich flavor of wild yam and a unique chewy texture that will become addictive.
