A popular casual French restaurant with a 990 yen lunch that is always fully booked even on weekdays (Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.

This time, I will introduce a casual French restaurant in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City. I visit various restaurants every day, but this is the restaurant that has impressed me the most in recent times in terms of taste and atmosphere.

Enjoy everything from lunch to dinner! The currently popular casual French restaurant "Seiyo Shokudo Miyazaki" (Kyomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

"Western Restaurant Miyazaki" is located a 3-minute walk from JR Kokura Station.

Opened in September 2023, this is a casual French restaurant where you can enjoy Western cuisine and wine and other drinks at reasonable prices.

Inside the restaurant there are six seats at the counter and two two-seat tables.

It is a homely space with a somewhat Japanese atmosphere.

The restaurant "Miyazaki Western Restaurant" is run by the charming, warm-hearted Miyazaki couple.

The chef, who has experience working in famous hotels, Chinese restaurants, and izakayas in Fukuoka, creates dishes that are all so delicious they will impress you. They use plenty of seasonal ingredients, mainly from Fukuoka Prefecture.

Lunch is available from 11:45 to 14:00 (last order 13:30), and dinner is available from 18:00 to 22:30 (last order 21:30).

Let me start by introducing you to lunch.

Even on weekdays, the restaurant fills up immediately after opening! A very popular 990 yen lunch menu

This lunch is so popular that it fills up immediately after being baked, even on weekdays.

There are two menu items: "Chicken Thigh Steak Set Meal" and "Pork Ginger Set Meal", both of which are 990 yen! The set includes rice or baguette, salad, soft-boiled egg, and cocotte.

Extra large servings of rice are free, and you can have refills for 100 yen.

It's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious!

The salad with homemade dressing, the cocotte (photo below, it was potato salad on this day) and the soft-boiled egg were also excellent.

The potato salad was creamy and melt-in-your-mouth, and went perfectly with the soft-boiled egg.

Pork and ginger set meal

The appearance and aroma of the "Pork and Ginger Set Meal" will whet your appetite from the moment it is brought to your table.

The sauce is made in the same frying pan as the meat, so it's full of flavor and really brings out the flavor.

The tender meat and delicious sauce made me want to eat more and more rice.

Both dishes are so satisfying and tasty, you'll wonder, "Is 990 yen really enough?", and they're excellent value for money. It's no wonder they have so many repeat customers.

A delicious dinner menu no matter what you eat

The dinner menu includes a la carte dishes, a "share course" (5,500 yen per person) and a "full course" (starting from 7,700 yen per person). *Reservations must be made the day before for the course, and orders must be made for two or more people.

Everything you eat is delicious, but here we will introduce some dishes that you definitely should try.

Assorted appetizers

The "Appetizer Platter" (1,980 yen for two) contains 5 to 7 dishes lovingly prepared by the chef.

The menu is filled with mouth-wateringly delicious dishes, including homemade roast pork, soft-boiled eggs with homemade mayonnaise, and marinated seasonal vegetables, but my favorite is the "Cheese Ball."

Homemade cream cheese mixed with prosciutto is topped with nuts and dried fruit. You can enjoy a variety of flavors and textures. You can even eat the whole stick.

The "Marinated White Fish" is also delicious. On this day, it was sea bream.

Sautéed seasonal vegetables and homemade herb bacon

This is "Sautéed seasonal vegetables with homemade herb bacon" (1,200 yen).

Our homemade herb bacon is marinated in herbs for two days and then cooked slowly at low temperature. The aroma the moment you put it in your mouth and the deliciousness that spreads throughout your mouth as the sweetness of the meat spreads will leave you in awe.

The vegetables vary depending on what's in stock, and on this day they had sauteed rape blossoms and spring cabbage.

Spicy Fish Eggs cheese risotto

"There are many business travelers and tourists in Kitakyushu, so we wanted them to enjoy something that is uniquely Fukuoka," was the inspiration behind the "Spicy Fish Eggs Cheese Risotto" (1,400 yen).

When you take a bite, the elegant flavor of the Grana Padano cheese and the spicy Spicy Fish Eggs are a perfect match.

It was accompanied by Spicy Fish Eggs-flavored foam and "menbei" (rice crackers), making it not only delicious but also a fun and playful dish.

For both lunch and dinner, a limited-time menu is available until the end of July 2024.

This is the Friday and Saturday only lunch menu "European-style butter chicken curry" (1,440 yen). It comes with two appetizers, rice, and salad. You can also add a drink and a mini dessert for an additional 550 yen.

Curry roux is made from flour, butter, tomato paste and spices.

The aroma of butter and spices will whet your appetite.

This is the "Pasta" (around 1,800 yen) that appears on the "Today's Recommended Menu" for dinner. The price varies depending on the type of pasta.
