Delicious chicken nanban! "A very satisfying lunch with dessert" at a popular cafe near Fukudai University (Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City)

This time, we will introduce restaurants where you can enjoy lunch in a relaxing atmosphere.

Located near Fukuoka University! "LOG KITCHEN" (Umebayashi, Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City), a restaurant loved by students and locals alike

LOG KITCHEN is located about a 5-minute walk from Umebayashi Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

Originally, the owner's parents ran it as a coffee shop in a student dormitory, but the owner took over in 2013 and opened it as a cafe and dining establishment.

The reason why the building is a log cabin is because the first owner wanted it to be a place where people could gather. The warm building has remained unchanged for many years, and the shop is loved by students and local people alike.

There are about 18 seats inside the restaurant, where you can feel the warmth of wood.

There are counter seats, so it's easy to come in even if you're alone.

There is a parking lot, but the number of cars that can be accommodated is limited, so if you are in a group, we ask that you carpool.

A satisfying lunch with dessert and drinks after the meal

There are several types of lunch available, including "Chicken Nanban" (900 yen, 1.5 times 1,150 yen, 2 times 1,450 yen) and the a la carte "Hamburger" (450 yen, only available as an add-on to a set meal), which are popular with people who want to enjoy a hearty meal.

This time, we would like to introduce the "Adult Children's Lunch Cake Set" (1,650 yen), which allows you to enjoy a little bit of everything (1,180 yen without cake).

The set includes a plate with a main dish, four small side dishes, salad, and rice, as well as soup, a drink, and cake.

The main dish is the "Today's Recommendation" (daily special), but for an additional 50 yen you can change it to the restaurant's most popular menu item, "Chicken Nanban" or "Hamburg Steak," so I went for the "Chicken Nanban."

Chicken Nanban is made with breast meat and the skin is removed, making it a healthy dish.

The tartar sauce, made with domestic onions and homemade pickles, has a rich yet mellow flavor that makes you want to add lots of it.

This homemade tartar sauce is available to buy to take home, but it is so popular that it can sell out, so you'll be lucky if you come across it.

Let me introduce you to the side dishes and soup of the day.

The "Marinated Carrots" had the crunchy texture of fresh carrots.

"Tofu with Japonaise Sauce" is made with delicious homemade Japonaise sauce!

It contains domestic onions, homemade pickles, and plenty of ginger and garlic, making it so delicious you'll want to eat it on things other than tofu as well. It's available for purchase in stores.

The "Harusame with Sesame Sauce" contains komatsuna and carrots, and its light taste refreshes the mouth.

The sauce used in the "Broccoli with Carrot Sauce" is also homemade, and you can taste the gentle sweetness of the carrots.

The "Chicken Soup" is made with chicken skin stock, so it's rich and delicious!

For dessert after the meal, you can choose from "Gâteau au Chocolat", "Cheesecake" or "Firm Pudding". I chose "Gâteau au Chocolat" ♪
