Kyushu's first! "New and popular bread store report" - the crunchy croissants are a must-try (Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts information about Fukuoka, mainly about cafes, on Instagram.

This time, we will introduce a popular bakery cafe that opened on March 2, 2024 in Kego, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.

The first Kyushu store! The much talked about bakery cafe from Hiroshima, "Companion Plants" (Kego, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Companion Plants opened about an eight-minute walk from Yakuin-Odori Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

Following on from the much talked about shop in Hiroshima, the second store has now opened here in Fukuoka ♡

Although it only just opened, it's already so popular that there are lines even on weekdays!

Takeaway is available, and you can also enjoy freshly baked bread in a relaxing space surrounded by plants.

Throughout the store you can see animal pictures painted directly onto the walls by pen artist Ayumi Hidaka.

Full of attention to detail! Introducing popular products

The bread made at this shop is made using domestic wheat and does not contain any food additives.

They are particular not only about the dough, but also about the ingredients, such as the ham and bacon, which are all handmade in-house.

Q-Conpan

The cutely wrapped "Kyukonpan" (290 yen each) is the most popular item in both Hiroshima and Fukuoka.

The building that houses the Hiroshima store was originally a warehouse for a horticultural wholesaler. The area where the kitchen is now was used as a bulb storage facility, and Kyukonpan was created to cherish this connection.

When you remove the wrapping, you'll find a perfectly round salted bread inside.

It's fluffy and chewy, and you'll definitely be hooked after just one try!

It seems that there are quite a few people who buy several at once.

Salut

"Salut" (320 yen) is the shop's popular croissant.

The reason for its unusual shape is that it was designed to enhance the texture.

When you eat it, you'll first taste the crunchy texture, then the aroma of butter will waft through the air, it's delicious!

This is a dish that you should definitely try.

Mentaiko bucket

The "Mentaiko Bucket" (500 yen), available only at the Fukuoka store, is a bucket filled with plenty of homemade Spicy Fish Eggs butter.

The contrast between the crunchy outside and the chewy inside is enjoyable.

Strawberry Milk

"Strawberry Milk" (370 yen) is filled with strawberries, homemade milk cream, and plenty of red bean paste.

The gently sweet milk cream goes perfectly with the red bean paste and sweet and sour strawberries. Another plus is that it's the perfect size for a snack.

There are many other breads that we have not been able to introduce here, so please have a look and find your favorite.
