A very popular shop that also makes a great gift! A shop specializing in exquisite ripe fruit tarts that are worth the trip (Kitahara, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce you to a shop where you can enjoy a wide variety of tarts made with plenty of ripe fruit!
"Fruit, Tart and Cafe Frutta" (Kitahara, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City) is a specialty store that uses plenty of ripe fruit for its tarts.
Frutta, a cafe with fruit and tarts, is located in Kitahara, Nishi-ku, about 30 minutes by car from the center of Fukuoka city. It is also just under 5 minutes by car from JR Kyushu University Research and Development City Station.
This shop opened in May 2023 with the desire to "allow people to enjoy a variety of fruits through tarts."
The owner, who originally ran a fruit shop, purchases fruit directly from the market, and then allows it to ripen before using it in abundance.
Apparently, you can enjoy about 7 different types on weekdays and about 10 different types on weekends and holidays.
The interior of the store has a "modern Japanese" concept, creating an open and relaxing space. The decorations change with the seasons.
The popular counter seats offer a view of the garden from the window.
7 to 10 varieties in a row ♡ "Ripe Fruit Tarts" that will make you want to eat more than one
The tart is made to bring out the deliciousness of the main fruit.
Also, all the fruits were fully ripe, so they were sweet and juicy to the max.
The dough was crispy and crumbly, and the flavor of the almonds in the damande was also very good.
I will introduce the lineup that was on offer on the day I visited. *The fruits in the tarts change depending on the season.
Strawberry tart (890 yen per piece)
The strawberries used are selected from the most delicious ones of the day.
Homemade strawberry jam, custard, and strawberries are placed on top of the tart dough.
The sweet and sour strawberries and smooth custard were a perfect match.
Strawberry shortcake tart (850 yen per piece)
The tart dough is combined with strawberries, fresh cream, and custard.
The fresh cream was fluffy and light, melting in your mouth. The sweetness was just right, bringing out the deliciousness of the strawberries.
Ripe pineapple tart (620 yen per piece)
It was topped with plenty of thinly sliced pineapple, and had a refreshing sweet and sour taste.
Ripe kiwi tart (680 yen per piece)
It was packed with thickly sliced kiwi fruit! I could really taste the deliciousness of the kiwi fruit and it left me feeling very satisfied.
Foret Noire Cherry Tart (840 yen per piece)
The tart dough is topped with chocolate sponge cake, fresh cream, and cherries soaked in syrup.
The cream and sponge cake were both very light and smooth, almost melting in your mouth. The cherry added a subtle sweet and sour taste that added a nice accent to the cake.
Melon tart (890 yen per piece)
The fresh, juicy melon and fluffy cream went perfectly together.
Kanpei (mandarin orange) tart (840 yen per piece)
"Kanpei" is a mandarin orange native to Ehime Prefecture, and the bursting juice was irresistible.
*Currently, the variety has changed to "Setoka."
Melo Gold and Grapefruit Tart (650 yen per piece)
You can enjoy two kinds of citrus fruits at once: grapefruit and melogold (a type of grapefruit). How luxurious!
Chocolate banana tart (680 yen per piece)
The tart dough is filled with fresh cream and chocolate custard, with a banana hidden inside. The surface is finished with a generous dusting of cocoa powder.
In addition, there was also "Tarte Tatin" on offer that day, so we could enjoy a total of 10 different tarts.
Tarts are generally sold by the piece, but you can also purchase a whole tart if you make a reservation up to three business days in advance (18 cm from 4,100 yen, 21 cm from 4,500 yen). It's perfect for birthdays and other celebrations.
It was such a delicious tart that I found myself wanting to eat two or three.
The fruits change with the seasons, so you can enjoy wondering "which one should I get next?" every time you visit.
You can eat in or take away. Be sure to try the various tarts! (Text by chippachapus)
