[Lawson] Satisfy your appetite with rice cakes and kinako ♡ 3 new "Kikyō Shingen Mochi Collaboration Sweets"
I'm Sumire, a writer who regularly checks out convenience store sweets.
On February 27, 2024, Lawson released sweets and breads in collaboration with Yamanashi's famous confectionery, Kikyoya Shingen Mochi! This time, we will introduce three carefully selected collaborative sweets.
1. The light and melt-in-your-mouth "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Soft Serve Ice Cream-Style Parfait"
First up is the "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Soft Serve Ice Cream Style Parfait" (311 yen) served in a cute, round cup.
This is the collaboration dessert that I was personally most interested in.
When you open the lid, you'll see a cute-looking parfait topped with plenty of kinako and brown sugar sauce.
The whipped cream, shaped like a soft serve ice cream, melts lightly in your mouth and has a gentle sweetness. It is topped with gyuhi on the side.
Beneath the cream are layers of bean paste, kinako mousse, and sponge cake.
The flavor of the kinako and the texture of the bean paste were well balanced, and the sweetness was just right, making this a relaxing Japanese dessert.
2. The chewy gyuhi is the key to the "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Mochi Texture Roll (Soybean Flour & Brown Sugar Syrup)"
This is the "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Mochi Texture Roll (Soybean Flour & Brown Sugar Syrup)" (441 yen).
This new product is a collaboration between Lawson's popular "Mochi Texture Roll" series and Kikyoya, and is a hot topic on social media.
When you open the package, you'll find six small, round roll cakes lined up inside. If you're a fan of Japanese sweets, you'll be entranced by their kinako-colored appearance.
The outer layer of mochi has a chewy texture.
The generous amount of kinako flavored sponge inside has a light texture similar to that of fresh cream.
There's also a thick brown sugar sauce in the center ♡ It's a delicious sweet treat that you'll find yourself eating two or three at once, so be careful not to eat too many!
3. Famous sweets turned into famous confectionery flavors "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Kikyo Shingen Mochi Doramocchi"
Lastly, we have "Uchi Café x Kikyoya Kikyo Shingen Mochi Doramocchi" (257 yen).
Lawson's hugely popular sweet "Dora Mochi," which has many fans who are captivated by its chewy, thin crust, has released a new product inspired by "Kikyō Shingen Mochi"!
As per usual, the ears are tightly connected and it looks like it's packed full of stuffing...!
When I cut it in half, I could see the chewy gyuhi inside.
The generous amount of cream is flavored with kinako, and the moment you put it in your mouth, you'll be soothed by the soft, Japanese sweetness.
The thick brown sugar paste had a slight bitter taste, which accentuated the sweetness of the Doramocchi.
The three sweets introduced this time are all so satisfying that you'll be amazed and say "This is Shingen Mochi!" the moment you try them. Be sure to check them out at Lawson! (Text by Sumire)
