[Kurume Lunch] Juicy hamburger and steak with great value for money available at a popular bistro
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
I received a direct message from someone in Kurume. Don't talk about Kurume's gourmet food without knowing this place.
I really wanted to know what was so great about the restaurant that it had such a reputation, so I went there right away.
Casual French cuisine with many popular menu items! The restaurant "Bistro Tokitsu" (Kurume City) is a popular place for people to hang out!
So we headed to Bistro Tokitsu, a standalone restaurant in Shojimacho, Kurume City.
Founded 33 years ago this year, this restaurant is known for its casual French cuisine that makes the most of the flavors of the ingredients. It is also often used for wedding receptions.
It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Kurume Station.
Given its location, many people will likely arrive by car, and the entire first floor is a parking lot with plenty of space.
Now, go up the stairs to the second floor.
Wow, what a surprise.
It has a retro feel, but the interior exudes a sense of luxury.
It's a spacious restaurant with a total of 70 seats, but there are also counter seats that are easy for one person to use.
To be honest, I was quite nervous when I first walked in, but the staff's warm service was amazing, and within five minutes of sitting down I felt at home and at ease.
The lunch menu includes "European-style Beef Curry" (1,300 yen / includes salad, soup, and coffee) and "Peperoncino" (1,300 yen / includes salad, soup, bread, and coffee). Prices are about the same as those of a regular cafe, making this a convenient place to visit.
A feast for the senses! The best value lunch: Wagyu hamburger steak and diced steak
This time I ordered the lunch menu item "Wagyu Hamburger Steak and Diced Steak" (1,650 yen/includes salad, soup, bread or rice, and coffee).
The soup is gently placed on the table. It's still chilly this time of year, so it's delicious.
The soup, which combines the mild flavor of consomme and vegetables, is irresistible.
Delicious salads too.
The dressing was also delicious, and I was enjoying the crispy texture of the potatoes on top, and I finished it in no time.
Here comes the main character.
The Wagyu hamburger steak and diced steak are served on white Western plates rather than on a hot plate, which gives it a French feel.
The diced steak is fluffy and delicious, so tasty you don't even need to chew it.
The heat is also controlled just right, stopping just before the food becomes too hard if cooked any further.
The Japanese-style sauce on the hamburger steak and diced steak is delicious, and I was worried that I would get bored of eating the same sauce, but it goes well with the hamburger steak.
Although it is cooked thoroughly, it remains fluffy and soft.
The flavor of the meat is concentrated in this one bite.
As you would expect from a homemade hamburger steak made from 100% Wagyu beef, it's great value for money to be able to eat it at this price.
The accompaniments are also delicious. You can also mix it with sauce to change the flavor.
Everything was so delicious that I finished it in no time. It even came with coffee, so it was a very satisfying lunch.
Take-out available! "Tokitsu Burger" made with 100% homemade Wagyu beef hamburger
By the way, there is an attractive menu item called the "Tokitsu Burger" that consists of this delicious hamburger steak sandwiched between French bread dough buns.
Check out this volume.
This takeout is 700 yen by itself. You can add fries for an additional 160 yen.
It's amazing that it's priced so reasonably, considering it uses 100% Wagyu beef pate.
Aaah, so tasty!!
I took it home and cooked it a little, but it was just as delicious as eating it at the restaurant. If I lived closer, I'd eat it twice a week.
By the way, you can also enjoy the "Tokitsu Burger Lunch" (1,100 yen/includes salad, soup, and coffee) inside the restaurant.
There are other popular menu items too! Check out the curry too!
I'd like to introduce another popular dish at Bistro Tokitsu. It's actually curry. By the way, there were many kinds of curry on the lunch menu.
The retort packs can be purchased in stores or online.
First, we'll start with the "European-style Curry" (700 yen).
The delicious flavor of the well-melted beef spreads throughout your mouth.
This is certainly a genuine taste that goes beyond what you might imagine from instant noodles. I'm sure it will be delicious even for those who don't like spicy food.
Next is the "Spicy Curry for Adults" (700 yen).
Ah, this one is a little lighter but still quite spicy, and as you eat it your mouth becomes increasingly numb.
But it was so rich and delicious that even I, who don't like spicy food, finished it all in no time, panting but still.
As expected from a restaurant loved by locals, one meal is not enough to know what's inside. I'd like to visit again. (Text by Yorimitsu)
