[Fukuoka Luxury Strawberry Sweets Summary] 3 shops carefully selected by a cafe-loving writer with 370,000 Instagram followers
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
Strawberries are in season now! I get excited every time I see strawberry sweets in various stores ♡
This time, we will introduce three shops that we particularly recommend among the strawberry sweets we have tried this season. All of them are only available for a limited time, so be sure to go and try them soon.
[Haruyoshi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City] Mei Cafe: 6 types of luxurious sweets made with Amaou strawberries!
Every year at this time, Mei Cafe in Haruyoshi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, holds a Strawberry Sweets Fair, featuring several types of sweets that allow you to lavishly enjoy Fukuoka's brand of strawberries, Amaou.
It is located in the lounge space on the first floor of the stylish boutique hotel, Hotel Mei, and is open from 9am to 6pm (strawberry desserts available from 10am).
Currently, six kinds of strawberry sweets are available. The lineup will change and will be available until the end of March 2024 (but may end earlier depending on availability).
My favorite is the "Amaou Flower Crepe" (2,200 yen), which uses more than 10 Amaou strawberries! Just as the name suggests, the Amaou strawberries are beautifully arranged like flowers, which is a sight to behold.
The homemade crepe dough is generously spread with butter, giving it a unique chewy texture, yet a light feel. It is finished off with a sprinkling of cane sugar. Inside, there is the milky cream used in the shop's popular "fruit sandwich," as well as a crunchy rusk.
Next up is the plate-style crepe "Strawberry Butter Sugar" (1,650 yen).
It uses six Amaou strawberries. Homemade strawberry jam is placed inside the dough, and fresh cream is served on the side. The chewy dough goes perfectly with the Amaou strawberries and milky cream.
This is the ever-popular "Strawberry Tiramisu" (980 yen). Homemade tiramisu cream and sponge cake soaked in plenty of homemade espresso are sandwiched between chunks of chopped Amaou strawberries. It's a compact size, but a very satisfying dessert.
There is also the "Strawberry Affogato" (1,280 yen, left in the photo below) which combines milk gelato from the popular gelato shop "ViTO" with a vegan waffle cone from "TUTTO", a sister shop of "ViTO" in Tokyo, and the "Strawberry Parfait" (1,900 yen, right) topped with cheesecake from "HOC", a sister shop of "Mei Cafe". *The "Strawberry Parfait" in March will be slightly different from the photo, with the cheesecake being changed from "Original" to "Earl Grey".
Each strawberry dessert is packed with care and is so delicious you'll want to eat them again and again!

[Nakagawa City Naka] "La.Chandeleur" offers "impressive crepes" over 30 cm tall and made with 20 strawberries!
Located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Fukuoka city, La. Chandeleur is a crepe specialty shop in Naka, Nakagawa city, where you can enjoy over 30 types of crepes, from standard to seasonal.
Currently, several varieties are available, including one that uses strawberries and is so striking you'll look twice (scheduled to be available until around Golden Week).
Our recommendation is the "Strawberry Crepe" which comes in three different varieties, each with a different appearance depending on the number of strawberries!
All of the cakes are made with a chewy homemade dough that uses plenty of eggs and is topped with pure fresh cream that is whipped in the shop every day.
The first one is the "Strawberry Heart Tower Crepe" (2,300 yen). *Limited quantity, advance reservations recommended.
A strawberry-filled crepe made with over 20 strawberries.
The dough is filled with vanilla ice cream, Oreos, and strawberries. You'll be able to enjoy the fluffy cream and sweet and sour strawberries to the fullest until the very last bite.
Next up are the "Strawberry Crepes" which use five strawberries (the two on the left in the photo below, 980 yen each) and the "Strawberry Swan Crepes" which use seven strawberries (the two on the right, 1,280 yen each).
The composition of the batter for both is the same as the Tower Crepe, containing vanilla ice cream, Oreos, and strawberries. You can choose between plain and matcha batter, and strawberry and chocolate sauce.
The "Strawberry Swan Crepe," as the name suggests, is topped with a generous amount of swan cookies.
The Strawberry Crepe was the perfect size for an easy meal.
In addition, the popular "All-you-can-eat Crepes Plan" (2,600 yen) now includes several varieties of "Strawberry Crepes." You can enjoy all-you-can-eat crepes of 37 varieties for 60 minutes (last order 5 minutes). *Reservations are required (weekdays 11:00-16:00, weekends and holidays only 10:30 or 11:30 start time)
I think it's rare to find a shop where you can enjoy such a wide variety of strawberry crepes. They were all delicious!

[Shima Otoko, Itoshima City] Sweets made with plenty of "Amaou" strawberries picked fresh every morning! "Strawberry Farmer's Kitchen Truck"
"Strawberry Farmer's Kitchen Car" sells parfaits, crepes, and strawberry candy made with plenty of fresh "Amaou" strawberries harvested every morning from a kitchen car.
The shop is located on the grounds of Itoshima Strawberry Farm, which has been in business for over 60 years since its grandparents' generation.
Of particular note is the menu that can only be enjoyed during evening hours (from 8:00 p.m.), which began in February 2024 and is limited to Fridays, Saturdays, and days before holidays (scheduled to be available until around mid-May 2024). *This time, we were given the special permission to take photos at lunchtime.
There are benches and high tables, and the style is to eat on the spot, but some dishes are available for takeout.
This is the "Amaou Parfait (Medium)" (2,500 yen), which uses 15 large Amaou strawberries.
There is a generous amount of whipped cream underneath the Amaou strawberry, and inside the glass is custard, Amaou strawberries, Amaou yogurt, and flakes.
They also have a takeaway "Amaou Parfait (medium)" (2,000 yen).
This is the "Amaou Parfait (small)" (2,000 yen), which has a cute cross-section and is filled with sliced Amaou strawberries.
A giant Amaou strawberry sits on top of the whipped cream, and the glass is filled with ice cream, Amaou strawberries, flakes, and Amaou yogurt.
Each parfait was delicious and I was able to fully enjoy the main ingredient, Amaou strawberry.
We also recommend the "Amaou Strawberry Candy" and "Crepes" that can be enjoyed both during the day and at night. *Some crepes are only available during the day (the photo below is only available during the day).
"Amaou Strawberry Candy" comes in a regular size of 3 pieces (500 yen) and 5 to 6 pieces (900 yen).
Coated in a soft candy, the sweetness of Amaou strawberries spreads across your tongue the moment you bite into it, making it irresistible.
This is the "Amaou-darake Crepe" (1,250 yen each), which is only available during the daytime. It contains nine whole Amaou strawberries and homemade Amaou sauce, making it a total of more than ten strawberries.
This is the "Fresh Amaou Crepe" (800 yen each), which can be ordered at any time of the day or night.
The reason why you can enjoy a wide variety of sweets made with freshly picked Amaou strawberries every morning is because it is run by a strawberry farmer. Both menus will end as soon as the strawberries harvested that day are sold out.
By the way, in addition to selling sweets from the food truck, you can also enjoy strawberry picking at "Itoshima Strawberry Farm" (Reservations are required until early May 2024). You can eat as many as eight varieties of strawberries as you like for 40 minutes!
This is also a recommended spot to stop by while driving around Itoshima.
