This hugely popular event that gives you a taste of traveling will be held again this year.

[2/22-28] The 8th National Famous Ekiben and Delicious Food Competition will be held at Hakata Hankyu
The 8th National Famous Ekiben and Delicious Food Festival will be held for seven days from Thursday, February 22nd to Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 at the event hall on the 8th floor of Hakata Hankyu.
More than 100 different kinds of ekiben will be shipped directly from all over the country, and 13 ekiben shops will set up stalls at the venue and there will also be demonstrations.
In addition, 27 stores will be gathering to sell delicious food from all over the country that is loved by tourists as well as locals.
One of the highlights this time is the "Hokuriku Special Feature" held to commemorate the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Kanazawa and Tsuruga on Saturday, March 16th!
There will also be bento boxes and popular Japanese sweets available for pre-sale before they are sold at the venue.

Kaga Crab Sushi
First, we will be introducing the "Kaga Crab Sushi" (1,480 yen per portion) from "Ekiben Takano" at Kaga Onsen Station in Ishikawa Prefecture, which will be featured in the demonstration.
The leg meat of the red snow crab is marinated in a secret crab vinegar recipe and served so densely that the rice is almost invisible! You can enjoy the moist texture of the crab.
Taste tour of Hokuriku (grilled mackerel, marinated mackerel, blackthroat seaperch, small sea bream)
This is the "Hokuriku Taste Tour (grilled mackerel, marinated mackerel, blackthroat seaperch, small sea bream)" (2,268 yen per portion) from "Wakahiro" at Fukui Station in Fukui Prefecture. New products to be sold in commemoration of the extension and opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen will be sold early at Hakata Hankyu!
This is a great value dish that allows you to experience the food culture of the Hokuriku region all at once, including the restaurant's popular grilled mackerel and marinated mackerel sushi.
Fukusa/Kuri Fukusa
"Shibafune Koide," a long-established Japanese confectionery store founded in 1917 in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, will be making an appearance. They will be selling "Fukusa" (195 yen, back of photo) and "Kuri Fukusa" (324 yen, front of photo), fresh confections made of Hokkaido Dainagon bean paste wrapped in a softly baked skin resembling a tea fukusa.
Habutae mochi
From Fukui Prefecture, we will be introducing the long-established "Hantei Mochi Sohonpo Matsuokaken" store, founded in 1897. The Fukui specialty "Hantei Mochi" (6 pieces for 886 yen), which melts softly in your mouth and expresses the texture of silk in a Japanese sweet, is a must-try!

One of the highlights of the "National Famous Ekiben and Delicious Food Festival" is the "demonstration sales" where you can buy freshly made bento at the venue. This year, 13 popular ekiben stores from all over the country will be doing demonstrations.
Popular octopus rice
This is the "Seaside "What if" No. 118 Popular Octopus Rice" (1,480 yen per portion) from "Awajiya" at Nishi-Akashi Station in Hyogo Prefecture.
The famous ekiben "Hiyatari Tako Rice" (1,300 yen per portion), which is served in a ceramic octopus pot, is a special edition in collaboration with the Japan Coast Guard. The inside of the special edition also includes squid, which is abundant in the sea under the jurisdiction of the 5th Regional Safety Headquarters in Kobe.
They also have the luxurious "Golden Hiyatari Tako Rice" (1,580 yen per portion), so you'll want to buy them all.
Hida beef steak bento
This is the "Hida Beef Steak Bento" (2,500 yen per person) from Kinkikan in Takayama Station, Gifu Prefecture. The Hida beef steak is cooked in a unique way, and the original sauce is the deciding factor!
Extra thick beef tongue bento (heated)
Be sure to also check out the "Extra Thick Beef Tongue Bento (Heated)" (2,980 yen per portion) at "Tan-ya Zenjiro" in Sendai Station, Miyagi Prefecture, which has an irresistible meaty appearance.
You can enjoy the texture and flavor that only Sendai's traditional hand-prepared beef tongue can offer. It's thick, so it's very satisfying to eat!
There are also plenty of other products you won't want to miss, such as "Ikameshi" (880 yen per portion) from "Ikameshi Abe Shoten" in Mori Station, Hokkaido, and "Unagi Mabushi" (1,580 yen per portion) from "Tsuboya" in Toyohashi Station, Aichi Prefecture.
Sold out! More than 100 kinds of direct delivery ekiben
More than 100 types of ekiben are delivered directly from all over the country every day!
The most popular direct-delivered ekiben, "Ueno Anagomeshi" (2,700 yen per portion) from "Ueno" at Miyajimaguchi Station in Hiroshima Prefecture, which attracts many repeat customers every year, will be on sale from February 22 (Thursday) to 26 (Monday) (scheduled to go on sale from around noon each day). Only 70 units will be available in stores each day, so if you're interested, hurry up!
There will also be character bento boxes that children will love, such as "Kuromi Lunch" at Shin-Kobe Station in Hyogo Prefecture (1,980 yen per portion), "Genki 100 Bye! Anpanman Bento" at Takamatsu Station in Kagawa Prefecture (1,700 yen per portion), and "GeGeGe no Kitaro Rice Bowl" at Tottori Station in Tottori Prefecture (1,600 yen per portion).
Until Wednesday, February 21st, we are also accepting online reservations, which allow you to receive your items smoothly with advance payment (40 types available, reservations must be made up to 7 days before the desired collection date).

There is also a wide selection of tasty foods from all over Japan, including "Old-fashioned Shumai" from "Kiyoken" in Kanagawa Prefecture (661 yen for a box of 15), "Phantom Tebasaki" (601 yen for five pieces) from "Sekai no Yamachan" in Aichi Prefecture, "Chocolate Cake R" (2,376 yen per piece) from "Tops" in Tokyo, "Mitarashi Dango" (601 yen for a box of five pieces) from "Kyodango Fujinami" in Kyoto Prefecture, and "3-color Warabimochi Assortment" (1,251 yen per pack).
You can enjoy the "Ebitamaten Bukkake Udon" (1,100 yen *Limited to 100 bowls per day) from "Hinode Noodle Factory" in Kagawa Prefecture as an eat-in option.
