Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves strawberry sweets. I'm so happy that there are so many strawberry sweets available this season.

This time, we will introduce the hotel's "Strawberry Fair," which started in February 2024.

The sweets fair is popular! Fukuoka Sunpalace 1st floor "Restaurant & Cafe Lagoon" (Chikkohonmachi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

"Fukuoka Sunpalace Hotel & Hall" is located in the bay area of Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.

It is about an 11-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station on the Hakozaki Subway Line, or about 10 minutes by Nishitetsu bus from the Tenjin or Hakata areas.

Music lovers may have visited Kyushu's largest concert hall, but there are restaurants on the first, ninth, and tenth floors, and the sweets at Restaurant & Cafe Lagoon on the first floor are particularly popular.

They hold seasonal events such as all-you-can-eat parfaits, and the strawberry fair "Lovely Ichigo" will be held until May 6th, 2024 (some menus until April 30th). Attractive strawberry sweets that can only be enjoyed now are available.

Available until April 30th! Teatime menu "Strawberry Moments"

First, we'll introduce the "Strawberry Moments" course (2,700 yen, includes a drink bar) that is only available for two hours from 14:00 to 16:00 (last orders at 15:30). Personally, this is the menu I was most looking forward to.

Please note that the sale will end earlier than usual on Tuesday, April 30th, and reservations must be made by the day before!

Strawberry sandwich

The cross-section of this "Strawberry Sandwich" is so cute. The combination of fluffy bread, lightly sweetened fresh cream, and sweet Amaou strawberries is irresistible.

Strawberry and prosciutto cold pasta (half size)

The "Strawberry and Prosciutto Cold Pasta (Half Size)" was the dish I had the hardest time imagining what it would taste like out of all the dishes in the course, so I was excited to see what it would taste like.

After taking a bite, I exclaimed, "It's delicious!"

The very thin pasta "Capellini" is smooth and easy to eat. The perfect balance of olive oil and salt brings out the flavor of the strawberries. The refreshing tartness of the strawberries fills your mouth, making it simply delicious and refreshing.

The flavor changes when eaten with prosciutto and mozzarella cheese, and I enjoyed it to the very last bite.

"Strawberry Moments" is a half-size snack, but you can also order the full-size version (1,300 yen) separately until May 6, 2024. *Available only from 11:00 to 14:00

Strawberry Sweets Plate

The "Strawberry Sweets Plate" is an assortment of "Strawberry Pie" and "Strawberry Cheesecake." It also comes with "Strawberry Ice Cream" on a separate plate.

In the back of the photo is a homemade sauce made with Amaou strawberries delivered directly from the strawberry farm. Put it on your favorite sweets to make them even more delicious.

I was very satisfied with being able to enjoy the charm of strawberries in a variety of flavors!

The course also came with soup, so it felt like a full meal.

By the way, the drink bar also had "green juice"! I was surprised, but it made me feel less guilty about eating a lot of sweets, so I was happy (laughs).

In addition to "Strawberry Moments," four other strawberry sweets will be available until May 6th (Monday, a public holiday) from 11:00 to 17:00 (last orders 16:30).

Strawberry spray pancakes

The "Strawberry Souffle Pancakes" (1,300 yen) are souffle pancakes generously topped with Amaou strawberries, blueberries, and fresh cream, and served with strawberry ice cream.

The pancakes are fluffy and melt in your mouth in an instant.

The deliciousness is doubled when topped with the chef's special jam, which is made with plenty of Amaou strawberries delivered directly from the strawberry farms!

Chef's special strawberry pudding

"Chef's Special Strawberry Pudding" (800 yen) made by the head chef of the Japanese restaurant at "Fukuoka Sunpalace Hotel & Hall".

The pudding was just the right firmness and rich in flavor. It went perfectly with the special cream that brought out the full flavor of the strawberries and the fresh Amaou strawberries.

Strawberry Zenzai

"Strawberry Zenzai" (580 yen), a spring staple dessert at "Fukuoka Sunpalace" that is hugely popular every year.

Zenzai, made with a generous amount of Hokkaido-grown red beans, is topped with mochi pounded with a mallet and sliced Amaou strawberries. It's no wonder there are so many repeat customers; it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating!

Premium Strawberry Parfait

Lastly, we have the "Premium Strawberry Parfait" (1,800 yen), which uses about half a pack of Amaou strawberries, the most in the history of Fukuoka Sunpalace.

It's impressive, standing at about 25cm tall, and has gold leaf sprinkled on top. As quantities are limited, we recommend making a reservation.

*Reservations can be made from 14:00 to 15:00

It was a luxurious treat, with sweet strawberries, fresh chocolate, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, homemade white wine jelly, and strawberry sauce. I thought it was a great value parfait! I was able to fully enjoy the strawberries.
