[MUJI] Back again this year! Four new and popular "sakura sweets" to get you ready for spring
I'm Sumire, a writer who loves sweets.
This time, we will introduce 4 recommended cherry blossom sweets from MUJI, perfect for getting in the spring!
1: So delicious you can't stop eating! "Sakura Crunch Chocolate"
The first product we would like to introduce is the new product "Sakura Crunch Chocolate" (290 yen), which was released on February 1, 2024.
This crunchy chocolate is made with powdered cherry blossom leaves, white chocolate, and feuilletine, which is finely crushed crepe dough. The pale pink color is cute.
When you eat it, the refreshing scent of cherry blossoms spreads gently inside your mouth.
The milky white chocolate has a hint of saltiness, and the fact that it's not too sweet is the key! The crunchy texture of the feuilletines is also great, making it so delicious you won't be able to stop eating.
The perfect size makes it the perfect companion for a quick coffee break.
It goes well with coffee, of course, but also with green tea and roasted green tea, thanks to its Japanese taste.
2: Sweet and sour! "Sakura Jelly"
Next, we would like to introduce the new product "Sakura Jelly" (290 yen), which was released on February 1, 2024.
This cute jelly has a gorgeous pink hue and is full of spring vibes.
It contains cherry leaf extract, making it sweet and sour and refreshing ♡ It has a light texture and melts smoothly in your mouth.
Inside the jelly are chunks of cherries preserved in syrup, adding a fruity flavor and a satisfying feeling.
We also found some agar jelly in the shape of cherry blossom petals! It was filling and, together with the cherries in syrup, it was a great accent to the whole thing.
The overall taste is refreshing, making it a great drink to have after a bath or exercise.
3: Enjoy two different flavors! "Sakura and Matcha Macarons"
This is the new product "Sakura and Matcha Macarons" (350 yen), which was released on February 2, 2024.
As the name suggests, this is a set of macarons in an assortment of sakura and matcha flavors.
The spring-like color combination of pink and green is so cute you'll want to take a photo ♡ And the round shape is irresistible.
The cherry blossom macarons have a slightly salty cherry leaf flavor, creating an exquisite balance of sweet and salty!
The matcha macarons are made using Uji matcha, allowing you to experience the richness and bittersweetness of matcha.
Both are made with chewy macaron dough and a generous amount of ganache sandwiched between them, giving them a rich flavor.
It has a strong sweetness and a sophisticated flavor that perfectly matches a variety of tastes.
It's perfect for when you want to feel luxurious! It's a sweet that you should enjoy slowly.
4. Sakura Manju: Soothing with just the right amount of sweetness!
Lastly, here is the ever-popular "Sakura Manju" (6 pieces for 350 yen). In 2024, it will be available from February 1st.
This is my favorite Japanese sweet that has a strong cherry blossom flavor.
The slightly pink dough has cherry blossom leaves kneaded into it.
The inside is filled with just the right amount of sweet bean paste!
The moment you put it in your mouth, the moist and soft dough and smooth bean paste combine to give you the aroma and gentle flavor of sakura mochi.
One is enough to satisfy you, so it's recommended for when you're just a little hungry. Another nice thing about them is that they are individually wrapped!
All of the cherry blossom sweets introduced this time are only available for a limited time this season. Be sure to check out MUJI early for the products you're interested in. (Text by Sumire)
