[Tenjin area izakaya] Food stalls gather indoors! A new spot for Fukuoka gourmet food, offering "sashimi and Hakata specialties"

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

What we'd like to introduce to you today is a new spot that opened in December 2023! It's an all-weather food stall alley that's packed with Fukuoka's food and entertainment.

All-weather! Hakata's Yatai Yokocho Kisumaru, an indoor venue with six food stalls (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)

"Hakata Yatai Yokocho Kisumaru" is located about a 7-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Subway Kuko Line. It is located on the first floor of an apartment building on Ganrincho Street, where many different restaurants are lined up.

The uniqueness of this shop becomes clear as soon as you step inside...

The seats are actually "yatai" (food stalls)! There are a total of six food stalls "living together" on both sides of the long, vertical interior of the restaurant.

Each stall has a different name - "Hakata Yatai Cuisine Kisuimaru", "Hakata Specialty Cuisine Kisuimaru", "Minna no Yatai Yokayoka", "Minna no Yatai Chibikko Taisho", "Sushi Bar Uokichi", and "New Yatai Salon de Utako" - and the menu items offered are different, but you can order from any of the stalls.

In addition, at "Minna no Yatai Yokayoka" and "Minna no Yatai Chibikko Taisho", if you book an all-you-can-drink plan for 7 or more people, you can "private" the restaurant (up to 26 people). Everyone, both adults and children, can become the "Taisho" and serve food and drinks from inside the counter, which is normally off-limits.

And best of all, you can enjoy the atmosphere of a food stall "indoors" with air conditioning, heating, and restrooms!

Check out the menu, which also includes raw foods and Fukuoka specialties!

This is the menu at "Hakata Yatai Yokocho Kisuimaru" (common to all the stalls).

There are plenty of Fukuoka specialties, such as motsunabe, mizutaki, and Spicy Fish Eggs!

Furthermore, while normal food stalls are prohibited from serving raw foods such as sashimi for health reasons, one of the attractions of the indoor "Hakata Yatai Yokocho Kisuimaru" is that you can enjoy sashimi and sushi.

Depending on the availability, you can even enjoy "live squid sashimi"!

They mainly source from Yobuko in Saga and Kanezaki in Fukuoka. Prices start from 3,000 yen and vary depending on the size of the day.

The fresh, translucent squid had a delicious crunchy texture. It had a subtle sweetness even without any dipping sauce, but adding a little soy sauce seemed to enhance the sweetness even more. It was delicious.

Finally, you can have it grilled with salt or fried.

By the way, if the squid of the day is large, you can have part of the squid used to make sushi.

This is "Hakata Nabe" (2,490 yen).

Have you ever had trouble deciding between Fukuoka's specialties, "Motsunabe" or "Mizutaki"? This "Hakata Nabe" is a kind of "hybrid" style, with chicken and tripe mixed in with the soup of Mizutaki. This dish is the best with its light soup and the delicious flavors of the chicken and tripe. The portion size is just right, not too large, so you can eat a variety of other dishes.

This is also a Fukuoka specialty, "Goma Saba" (890 yen). It was meaty and had a great texture!

This is a live surf clam from Hokkaido. You can choose to have it as sashimi, sushi, or grilled in butter (the photo shows it grilled in butter).

The large shell is packed with meat, and when cooked, the color of the meat changes from milky white to red.

Drinks range from the standard to sours that look great on social media, such as the "Adult Melon Soda" (690 yen) and "Mataichi Salt Lemon Sour" (690 yen)♪

A new type of izakaya called "Hakata's Yatai Yokocho Kisumaru." Recommended for people living in Fukuoka as well as tourists! Why not come and enjoy the "yatai" with everyone? (Text by Hakata Aya.)
