[Ministop] PR representative's recommendation! Three "Ministoppings x popular and new sweets"

I'm Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves convenience store sweets.

Ministop's cold sweets and hot snacks attract attention every time they release a new product. Along with these products, do you know about the Mini Toppings that are currently being sold in front of the cash register?

It is a topping that can be enjoyed on products such as soft serve ice cream and parfaits, and you can arrange it to your liking at a great price of 33 to 55 yen per bag!

This time, we asked a Ministop public relations representative to tell us the recommended combinations of cold sweets and hot snacks that go well with Mini Toppings.

1: Instant glamour! Colored sugar x vanilla soft serve ice cream

First up is the combination of "Colored Sugar" (33 yen) and "Soft Serve Vanilla" (275 yen).

After receiving the soft serve ice cream, I opened a bag of "Colored Sugar" and tried adding some toppings to it.

The four pale colors stand out against the pure white soft serve ice cream and are so cute!

The "Colored Sugar" has a fun crunchy texture, and when topped on the smooth "Soft Serve Vanilla," it adds a nice accent to the whole dessert.

The soft serve ice cream is made using raw milk and cream from Hokkaido, and the rich milkiness is enhanced by the gentle sweetness of the "colored sugar," resulting in an even more luxurious taste.

It's great to see how a topping that costs just 30 yen can make the dish look so festive! Kids will love it too.

2: The new soft serve is even more luxurious! Chocolate crunch x premium roasted green tea chocolate soft serve

Next up is the new and already popular "Premium Hojicha Chocolate Soft Serve" (429 yen), which was released on January 26, 2024, topped with "Chocolate Crunch" (33 yen).

The "Premium Hojicha Chocolate Soft Serve" is a sweet that combines a variety of flavors, made by pouring rich chocolate Mont Blanc sauce over the "Hojicha Latte Soft Serve" (319 yen), which was released at the same time, and topping it with refreshingly tasting raw chocolate mochi.

The "Hojicha Latte Soft" is made using Kaga-bou Hojicha powder and raw milk from Hokkaido, and has an irresistible rich aroma and flavor. Sprinkle some "chocolate crunch" on top to make it even more luxurious...!

The crunchy texture of the crunch makes it even more satisfying to eat! The soft serve ice cream has just the right amount of sweetness, like a roasted green tea latte, and the "chocolate crunch" tastes like crushed cocoa cookies. It's a class-up in both appearance and taste.

3: Is this a combo? Double chocolate sauce and French fries

Lastly, we have a hot snack: "French fries" (297 yen) topped with "Double chocolate sauce" (55 yen).

"Double Chocolate Sauce" comes in a container that you can easily break open and pour into.

The two types of chocolate - crunchy, hardening chocolate and melting chocolate syrup - are combined by breaking the container.

I tried pouring it over freshly fried French fries.

The appearance alone is enough to tempt you, and this is the birth of the enticing "sweet and salty potato" ♡

There's nothing quite like the feeling of guilt of pouring sweet sauce over hot French fries!

The outside is crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy. It's delicious as is, but when you pour the sauce on top, the sweetness of the chocolate and the saltiness of the potato match perfectly, making it so delicious you won't be able to stop eating!

The chocolate melts and you can eat it just like chocolate fondue. It may be surprising, but this is a combination that you should definitely try.

There are four types of "Mini Toppings". In addition to the types introduced this time, there is also "Almond". Of course, you can put the toppings on all at once, but we also recommend sprinkling them on little by little as you eat. Another great thing about them is that you can adjust the amount and timing to your liking. If you're interested, be sure to check it out at Ministop. (Text by Sakamoto Masayo)
