[MUJI] Popular products in mini sizes...!? Six products recommended by MUJI fans
My name is Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves MUJI.
One of MUJI's most popular products is the "Irregular Baumkuchen." It comes in a wide variety of flavors and is good value for money, but a mini version, perfect for when you just want to eat a little or try a variety of flavors, was released in January 2024 at select stores and on the online store!
So this time, we will introduce all 6 types of "Irregular Small Baumkuchen Series". What's great is that they are all reasonably priced at 120 yen each.
1: The most popular flavor! "Irregular Small Banana Baumkuchen"
First up is the "Irregular Small Banana Baumkuchen."
This is a mini version of the "Irregular Baumkuchen Series," which is not only one of the best-selling snacks at MUJI, but also one of the best-selling snacks in the entire series!
The weight of a regular "Irregular Banana Baumkuchen" is about 110g on average, but these mini Baumkuchen weigh about 49g on average, which is just half the size. They're the perfect size for when you want to satisfy your hunger.
The moment you take a bite, the aroma of banana hits you! The moist dough, which is made with banana puree, is like a layer of sweet, ripe bananas molded into a Baumkuchen bun. It has a fruity and refined taste.
It's easy to see why it's so popular; it's so delicious you'll definitely want to come back for more.
2: Gentle sweetness! "Irregular Small Honey Baumkuchen"
This is "Irregular Small Honey Baumkuchen."
The sweet aroma of honey will whet your appetite from the moment you open the package. The richness and gentle sweetness of the honey kneaded into the dough is what makes this a unique treat, and its simplicity is what makes it so appealing.
3. Simple Taste: "Irregular Small Sweet Potato Baumkuchen"
This is "Irregular Small Sweet Potato Baumkuchen."
Sweet potato paste is kneaded into the dough, giving it a beautiful, vibrant sweet potato color! You can also enjoy a moister texture.
It has a simple and gentle taste with a faint hint of sweet potato.
4. Irregular Coffee Baumkuchen: Perfect with milk!
This is an "irregular small coffee Baumkuchen."
This Baumkuchen is made with rich coffee paste, allowing you to enjoy the charm of coffee through its aroma and flavor.
It has a slight bitterness and a strong sweetness that makes you want to savor it slowly. It goes well with drip coffee or milk.
5. The soothing aroma of the "Irregular Small Tea Baumkuchen"
Following on from the coffee, there is also the fragrant "Irregular Small Tea Baumkuchen."
As soon as you open the package, the aroma of Earl Grey tea wafts out.
It tastes like sweet black tea in a Baumkuchen bun, with a subtle bitterness that's delicious! Your mouth will be filled with the aroma of Earl Grey.
This Baumkuchen is perfect for relaxing times.
6: Rich and authentic! "Irregular Small Chocolate Baumkuchen"
Lastly, we have the "Irregular Small Chocolate Baumkuchen."
It is made with plenty of chocolate and has a rich flavor that is sweet yet slightly bitter.
When you take a bite, the rich aroma of cacao fills your mouth.
The moist dough is delicious as is, of course, but if you warm it up a little in the microwave it becomes fluffy and even more delicious!
You can also enjoy arranging it in different ways, such as making it into a trifle with whipped cream and fruit like a cocoa sponge, or drizzling it with chocolate.
All six of these products are highly recommended! If you are interested, please check out MUJI! (Text by Masayo Sakamoto)
