2. RUNNY CHEESE "Hantai Strawberry Butter Cheese Sandwich"

Next up on our list is the "Hantei Strawberry Butter Cheese Sandwich" (5 pieces for 2,700 yen, shipping not included, delivered frozen), which has been featured in various media outlets.

This premium strawberry butter sandwich is made by RUNNY CHEESE, a cheese specialty store in Fukui Prefecture.

Since its launch in March 2022, approximately 300,000 units have been sold to date, with approximately 900,000 units sold of the Habutae Butter Cheese Sandwich in total! (The first flavor was released in January 2022.)

Sandwiched between two cheese-scented cookies is Fukui specialty "Hantei Mochi" from Muranaka Kansendo, strawberry butter, strawberry bean paste, and dried strawberries.

Habutae mochi is chewy and the more you chew it, the more a gentle sweetness spreads in your mouth.

The cream is made from a mixture of white chocolate, butter, and sweet and sour freeze-dried strawberries, and is sandwiched between two sable cookies.

The cream is rich and full of milk. It has a smooth texture. The freeze-dried strawberries and sable cookies have a crunchy texture, which adds a nice accent to the overall flavor.
