This time, we went to a popular cafe because we heard that a bakery had opened inside!
A bakery has opened inside a popular cafe! "STONG bakery" (Meinohama, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City)
"Stong Cafe Meinohama Main Branch" is located about a 15-minute walk from Meinohama Station on the Subway Kuko Line.

This popular cafe opened in 2020 and is celebrating its 4th anniversary this year.
The store is spacious and open, and free Wi-Fi is available, so you can often see people working on their computers.

"STONG bakery" opened inside "Stong Cafe" on January 5th, 2024.
The specialty of this shop is the "all-scratch manufacturing method" which involves everything from preparing the dough to fermenting and baking. They use local ingredients from Meinohama and Itoshima in pursuit of "taste," and serve freshly baked bread.

There are many different kinds of bread available, including hard and soft breads, sweet breads, and savory breads.
Many breads are lined up from 9:00 in the morning, but the widest variety is said to be available between 9:00 and 10:00. The variety seems to decrease after 14:00, so if you want to have a good selection, we recommend coming early.

Eat-in is also OK! A taste review of four types of bread
Bread is available on a one-order basis and can also be eaten in.
This time I chose four types.
Earl Grey Melon Bread
The dome-shaped bread in the upper left (back) is "Earl Grey Melon Bread" (200 yen).

The cookie dough is made with fragrant Earl Grey tea and is baked thinly, so it crumbles easily and the sweetness spreads throughout your mouth. The aroma of black tea wafts through your nose, making it irresistible. The inside is made of brioche dough that melts in your mouth.
Meihama seaweed salt bread
This is "Meihama Seaweed Salt Bread" (180 yen).
The cute, white, round shape is topped with seaweed powder.

Inside is a generous amount of seaweed sourced directly from Meinohama Fishing Port! This is a specialty dish that STONG bakery is proud of, where you can enjoy the flavor of seaweed together with the umami of Guérande salt from France.

Seaweed and cod roe French fries
This is the "Nori Mentaiko French Bread" (360 yen). Mentaiko French Bread has become more common recently, but at "STONG bakery" they have added their own twist to it, as the name suggests.

This is a combination of Spicy Fish Eggs and seaweed delivered directly from Meinohama Fishing Port! The seaweed has a strong umami flavor, so it goes perfectly with Spicy Fish Eggs.

Cheese curry bread
This is the very popular "Cheese Curry Bread" (300 yen).

This "baked" curry bread has a crispy exterior and a chewy texture inside! It is filled with a generous amount of special curry, developed by the chef of the sister Spanish restaurant "ricont" for this curry bread. It was a dish that was perfected after many taste tests, and it was delicious.

Panini Basil Chicken
Paninis have always been a very popular food menu item at Stong Cafe, and of course they are now baked at the STONG bakery.
You can choose from "Basil Chicken" and "Tuna Avocado" as your topping, and you can add coffee for an additional 200 yen. This time, I chose the "Panini Basil Chicken" (850 yen).
