The inside is soft and runny! The retro look and delicious taste of "The Omurice" (Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm Ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.

I'd like to introduce you to my favorite coffee shop.

Run by a popular café! "Kissa Coty" (Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka) has a charming retro atmosphere

"Cafe Coty" is located in Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It is about an 8-minute walk from Nishitetsu Hirao Station.

There is free parking for two cars, but there are many paid parking lots nearby.

Café Coty, which has a nostalgic atmosphere, was founded in 1977. It is currently run by the third generation owner, who also runs STEREO COFFEE in Watanabedori.

Since the original shop operated as a snack bar, the sign still reads "COFFEE & SNACK Cotty."

After that, the current Cafe Coty started in April 2020 when the second generation owner retired.

The interior of the store is filled with the warmth of wood, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for the older generation and an emotional one for the younger generation.

There are also counter seats, so you can relax even if you're alone.

This time, I was able to sit in the popular seat at the very back.

Super delicious! Retro and beautiful "The Omurice"

At Cafe Coty, you can enjoy delicious food, sweets, and coffee.

This time, we visited during dinner time (17:30-21:00, last order 20:30).

The "Omurice" comes with salad and soup for 1,200 yen. You won't find this much for a price during dinner time in Fukuoka City.

By the way, during lunch time (11:30-15:30, last order 15:00) it costs just 990 yen (plus 200 yen for a large serving), so you can enjoy it at a great price.

The omelet rice at lunchtime is served with ketchup,

Dinner time is "Omurice with Demi-glace Sauce". You can change it to ketchup, so this time I ordered one of each.

This retro "Omurice" is not the popular type with an omelette on top, but chicken rice neatly wrapped in egg!

I put my spoon in with a pounding excitement.

Inside is orange chicken rice! It's well flavored.

The eggs have a glossy skin-like appearance and appear to be thoroughly cooked, but inside they are soft and runny! Irresistible.

I couldn't stop eating my spoon and finished it in no time! The salad and soup were both delicious. For me, this was the most delicious omelet rice I've ever had. I'm sure I'll want to eat it again.

The demi-glace sauce was also very rich and flavorful, and was absolutely delicious.

Other dishes available include the "Miyazaki-style Chicken Nanban Set Meal" and "Pork Cutlet Curry", all reasonably priced at 890 to 1,200 yen for lunch and 1,200 to 1,500 yen for dinner.

You can also enjoy special drinks and desserts!

There are five kinds of sweets available, including "Pudding" and "Baked Cheesecake," but my favorite is the "Mixed Berry Mille Crepe" (550 yen each, requires ordering one drink. During lunchtime, it can be ordered as a dessert set for an additional 450 yen to go with your lunch).

Mille crepes are a type of dessert made of multiple layers of crepes and cream, but the ones at Café Coty have a slightly different cross-section.

The cross-section of the cake, with its mysterious pattern, is made up of berry cream and fresh cream, and is truly beautiful! It is topped with a generous amount of berry sauce!

They were so cute and delicious that it was a shame to eat them.

We also ordered coffee (500 yen for a single item, one drink order required. During lunchtime, it can be ordered as a drink set for lunch plus 300 yen).

The cups used on this occasion were from the American brand "Fire King." It's great to be able to enjoy this in a Fire King, which has a loyal following and is very popular even as a vintage item.
