[Nakasu Lunch] Exquisite authentic Chinese food from 1,000 yen! A delicious limited-time crab menu is also available (Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello, I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.
We will introduce you to the limited-time menu of this authentic Chinese restaurant that is known only to those in the know, where you can enjoy a reasonable lunch despite its location in Nakasu.
An authentic Chinese restaurant in Nakasu that you should know about: "Lao Shanghai Rikushichubo Nakasu Branch" (Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
"FPG links NAKASU" is a 10-story building located at the foot of Haruyoshi Bridge, which connects Nakasu and Haruyoshi.
Located on the sixth floor is "Lao Shanghai Riku Shi Chubo."
The luxurious entrance made me nervous as I entered the store, wondering, "Is it okay for me to go?"
The interior of the store doesn't disappoint either, it's very luxurious!
There is a large chandelier and warm light pours in, creating a calming atmosphere.
A limited-time menu is now available at "Lao Shanghai," where you can enjoy the best value lunch starting at 1,000 yen
When you think of "Lao Shanghai Lu's Kitchen," you may think of it as a high-end restaurant, and you may even hear that celebrities frequent it. But it's actually a restaurant where you can enjoy reasonable lunches starting from 1,000 yen!
This time we would like to introduce a special lunch that can be enjoyed for a limited time from December 2023 to the end of January!
This is the "Crab Miso Rice" (2,800 yen, limited to 8 meals per day, reservations accepted) made with crab miso from Shanghai crabs, which are in season now. This is actually my first time trying crab miso. I'm looking forward to it!
The rice and crab miso paste served in a hot stone pot were brought out right away. In addition, soup, a daily dessert, and pickles were also included.
The dish is served over hot rice, with the sauce, which is made with a generous amount of crab miso, poured over the rice.
The staff carefully poured the sauce over the rice. Don't miss the "sizzling" sound that comes when this happens.
Then, pour black vinegar over it.
Mix it well quickly with a spoon. The staff mixed it for me.
Even after you've finished mixing, it continues to make a bubbling noise for a while, whetting your appetite. You'll be itching to start eating.
The hot crab miso rice is very rich in flavor!
Its deep flavor has a hint of bitterness, and the addition of black vinegar for an added accent gives it even more body.
By the way, crab miso is packed with nutrients, and its flavor is apparently enhanced when cooked.
This is a dish that should be eaten while it's hot!
There are over 40 other enticing lunch menu items!
In addition, there are over 40 types of reasonably priced lunches starting from 1,000 yen. All lunches come with rice (excluding noodles and rice dishes), soup, sweets, and pickles.
I'd like to introduce what I ordered that day.
Spicy Chicken Lazuzi (1,500 yen)
This is "fried chicken and chili stir-fry." It is a dish of bite-sized pieces of fried chicken deep-fried in high-temperature oil, roasted and cooked with chili peppers and peanuts.
The large chili peppers are popular in China as a snack to go with alcohol. At first glance, they look very spicy, but contrary to appearances, they are not that spicy. The crispy texture of the snack chili peppers, the crispy fried chicken, and the different textures of the peanuts make this a fun dish.
Boiled beef (1,800 yen)
Boiled beef is "beef and vegetables stewed in chili pepper soup" in Japanese. Beef thigh, vermicelli, and lots of vegetables are stewed in chili pepper soup. Coriander is served on top of the bright red soup.
Apparently, this dish is said to be the spiciest among the many spicy dishes in Sichuan cuisine.
It's definitely spicy, but it's also incredibly delicious!
There were lots of vegetables, including stir-fried cucumbers, a Chinese style dish.
Jen Hun Tung (1,000 yen)
The name of the dish includes the meaning of "fried wontons on both sides" in Chinese. I chose fried wontons this time, but you can also choose soup wontons.
The wontons are packed with ingredients and are very satisfying to eat! The skin is also very chewy and delicious.
Today's nutritious steamed soup
We will also introduce the soup that comes with lunch.
Previously, they offered a different soup each day, but after receiving strong requests from customers for the Nourishing Steamed Soup, with some saying "I came here just to drink that soup!", it became a standard lunch soup.
The basic ingredients remain the same - a soup made from carefully rehydrated dried foods and nutritious ingredients - but the specific ingredients change daily; on this day, they included thick shiitake mushrooms and chicken. It was a delicious soup with a luxurious taste.
It may seem like you need a little courage to dine here in Nakasu, but we had a very relaxing time. Of course, there are many dishes on the menu that can only be enjoyed at dinner time.
The cheerful manager, Ms. Shu, will also soothe you with her polite hospitality.
