[MUJI] 3 seasonal chocolate sweets perfect for Christmas and the New Year holidays
My name is Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves MUJI.
This year, MUJI has once again released its popular seasonal limited edition chocolates.
This time, we will introduce three of our most recommended places that will give you a little luxury experience.
1: Cacao Truffle Hazelnut
First up is the "Cacao Truffle Hazelnut," which costs 350 yen for 100g.
This luxurious truffle chocolate is made by kneading rich cacao truffles with flavorful hazelnuts.
The moment you open the bag, the fragrant aroma of hazelnuts fills the air. Each truffle is a different shape, giving it a handmade feel!
When you take a bite, the first thing you notice is the richness of the chocolate. The crunchy texture of the finely chopped hazelnuts inside is a perfect match with the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate!
The classic combination of chocolate and nuts is undoubtedly delicious. It's irresistible for nut lovers.
With its rich, aromatic flavor, it is perfect as a snack, or with champagne or wine. Just one piece of chocolate will leave you feeling satisfied, making it the perfect treat.
Several varieties are available in the same series, including "Pistachio."
2: Bonbon Chocolate Uji Matcha & Houjicha
This is the "Bonbon Chocolat Uji Matcha & Houjicha." A box of six costs 450 yen.
"Bonbon Chocolat" means "bite-sized chocolate".
As the name suggests, the chocolates are bite-sized and individually wrapped in Uji matcha and roasted green tea flavors. There are three of each.
Each one is coated with a crunchy chocolate exterior and filled with smooth, gooey ganache.
The Uji matcha flavor is a rich chocolate that spreads the aroma of tea throughout your mouth. Highly recommended for matcha lovers!
The Hojicha flavor is a refined ganache with a subtle roasted tea aroma that goes perfectly with the chocolate on the outside.
It's fun to compare the different flavors and share them.
There is also a "Hazelnut & Salted Caramel" in the same series.
3: White Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
Lastly, we have the "White Chocolate Sandwich Cookies." They cost 250 yen each.
These cookies have a white chocolate bar between them. At first glance it looks like cream, but the surprise is that it's actually a chocolate bar!
There is a smooth cream sandwiched between the cookies and chocolate, which holds them together firmly.
The slightly bitter cocoa-flavored cookies bring out the sweetness of the rich, milky white chocolate, making you feel luxurious from the moment you take a bite.
It's very filling! You can enjoy the contrast between the crunchy texture of the cookie and the chewy texture of the chocolate.
It's also a great treat to treat yourself. In the same series, there is also the "Bitter Chocolate Sandwich Cookies".
MUJI chocolates are perfect for parties and special occasions. It would be fun to share different types. There are many other chocolates on sale, so be sure to check them out. (Text by Sakamoto Masayo)
