[Tenjin area izakaya] The 2-hour all-you-can-eat and drink course is a bargain! A popular farm restaurant (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.
This time, we will introduce you to a popular izakaya in the Tenjin area that offers great value dinners!
The stylish interior is also popular! Farmhouse restaurant "MAHALO Vegetable Dining Tenjin Daimyo (Mahalo)" (Daimyo, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)
"MAHALO Vegetable Dining Tenjin Daimyo (Mahalo)" is located in Daimyo, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.
This is a "farm restaurant" where you can enjoy dishes made with pesticide-free vegetables and fruits grown on the restaurant's own farm in Itoshima.
It is also very accessible, just a 2-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Subway Kuko Line and about a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station.
It's on the third floor of this building.
Inside the store, the ceiling is decorated with many dried flowers.
I've been there before during lunch time, which is only available on weekends and holidays, but this was my first time visiting at night.
Both the bright atmosphere during the day and the moody atmosphere at dinnertime are wonderful!
In front of the kitchen, there are counter seats that are easy for one person to use.
They also have semi-private rooms, which are popular with families with children. They have sunken kotatsu tables, so you can relax comfortably. The room in the photo can accommodate up to eight people.
All-you-can-eat and drink menu items using fresh vegetables and fruits! Great value course
Although there is an ala carte menu, Mahalo is popular for its great value dinner course, which includes all-you-can-eat and drink dishes made with vegetables and fruits from their own farm!
There are courses available, such as the "2-hour all-you-can-eat and drink course" (4,980 yen for women, 5,480 yen for men, 550 yen for elementary school students, 550 yen for infants), and the "Unlimited time all-you-can-eat and drink course" which also includes desserts (6,980 yen for women, 7,480 yen for men, 550 yen for elementary school students, 550 yen for infants).
This time, I ordered the "2-hour all-you-can-eat and drink course."
With this course, you will be served a few dishes at the beginning and then you can order any dish you like from the full menu (except dessert).
I'll introduce some of the menu items that particularly impressed me.
Specialty! A treasure box of Itoshima vegetables
The "Treasure Box of Itoshima Vegetables," which is always served with each course, is synonymous with "Mahalo."
When you open the lid, the dry ice steam gushes out, making you excited!
On this day, the menu consisted of roast duck, two types of pickled Itoshima vegetables, and low-temperature cooked steamed chicken.
It was a feast for the eyes and very satisfying.
A vegetable plate for beauty and health using organic Itoshima vegetables
It's a dish that I couldn't resist ordering just because of its name.
Plenty of prosciutto on top of warm or grilled vegetables.
Served with a red sauce made from beets and onions and a green sauce made from zucchini and pumpkin.
I was able to enjoy the natural flavor of the vegetables, and it was simple yet luxurious.
Stoneware salad washed at 50℃
It's packed with crunchy leafy vegetables that have been "washed at 50 degrees Celsius," as well as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, broccoli, avocados, and more. It's delicious!
Itoshima vegetable carpaccio
Mahalo's carpaccio is mainly vegetables! Seasonal vegetables are served alongside fresh fish.
On this day, the dish consisted of salmon, pumpkin, broccoli, cucumber, and peppers. It was colorful, beautiful, and delicious.
Yan'nyomu chicken
Of course, non-vegetarian dishes are also available.
My favorite is the "Yangnyeom Chicken." It's sweet and spicy and addictively delicious! It's juicy and I want to eat as many as I can.
Spicy Fish Eggs cream pasta made with Fukuoka's specialty Spicy Fish Eggs
The Spicy Fish Eggs cream pasta also contained broccoli and tomatoes. It was creamy and delicious.
Other pasta options include "Napolitan" and "Carbonara."
Daily Veggie Cocktail
This course also includes all-you-can-drink drinks. There are standard drinks available, but the highlight is the "Daily Veggie Cocktail."
This drink is made by carefully preparing a cocktail from vegetables and fruits using a slow juicer. It is served with about 10 kinds of vegetables, which makes a big impact! On the day, it was decorated with lotus root, cucumber, broccoli, and pink flowers, which made my heart flutter ♡
The one on the left is komatsuna, and the one on the right is tomato-based. Non-alcoholic versions are also available.
I was a bit nervous about what it would taste like since it was a vegetable cocktail, but it was so easy to drink that I could drink as many as I wanted ♡
Add dessert
The "2-hour all-you-can-eat and drink course" does not include dessert, but you can add it as an a la carte option.
On this day, I ordered the "Baked Sweet Potatoes Cooked at Low Temperature for Three Hours" (980 yen).
The little flowerpot and scoop-shaped spoon are a cute addition! The soil-like things are crushed cookies.
Cooking at low temperature turns the starch in sweet potatoes into sugar, bringing out the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes to the fullest, making them into a "sweet".
Even if you eat and drink a lot for two hours, you won't feel guilty, probably because it's full of vegetables.
It's also recommended for Christmas, year-end parties, and New Year's parties! Why not stop by? (Text by ayu.latte)
