[Nishijin Lunch] A hot new restaurant! An exquisite Western restaurant run by a French chef (Sawara-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.
This time, we will introduce some delicious lunches that you can enjoy in Nishijin, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City.
Western Food Land (Nishijin, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City) is a Western restaurant serving authentic cuisine run by a French chef.
Western Food Land opened on November 20, 2023 on the first floor of PRALIVA, a commercial facility directly connected to Nishijin Station on the Subway Airport Line. It is open in a renovated half of the original Italian restaurant FLOURISH Nishijin.
After working at many famous restaurants, French chef Kumamoto opened the popular Bistro Le Bourgeon in Omiya, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. With the desire to make French cuisine more casual and approachable, he is now working to reconstruct the Western cuisine that was developed uniquely in Japan.
By the way, the bears wearing chef's hats that can be seen in the glass windows of the shop are apparently based on Chef Kumamoto.
The restaurant has 28 table seats and 10 counter seats.
There are also seats with a bench on one side.
Must-try! "Omurice" and "Hamburger" with the exquisite demi-glace sauce
Western Food Land has two parts: lunch and dinner.
This time, we will introduce the lunch that can be enjoyed from 11:30 to 15:00 (last order 14:30). There are 8 types of menus. All come with a soup of the day, and there are also sets where you can add salad or other extras.
There are four set options: "A Set" with salad and drink (+400 yen), "B Set" with dessert and drink (+400 yen), "C Set" with salad, dessert and drink (+600 yen), and "D Set" which is just a drink (soft drink +200 yen, alcohol +450 yen).
Among the lunch options, the first thing you should check out is the menu that uses demi-glace sauce, which is said to be the most important ingredient at Western Food Land.
This is a special sauce that takes 10 days to complete, including simmering the ingredients and the subsequent aging process.
On this day, I enjoyed "Omurice" and "Hamburg steak".
Omelette rice with demi-glace sauce (1,480 yen)
A fluffy, jiggly omelette is placed on top of the chicken rice, and then topped with a generous amount of our special demi-glace sauce.
We would like to make it the trendy "Pakkan Omelette Rice," but Chef Kumamoto says, "I would like you to eat it just as it is, without breaking it, with a spoon. I personally think it tastes better that way."
If you eat it as advised, the moment when the soft-boiled egg pops out and mixes with the bitter and rich demi-glace sauce is an indescribable taste!
The chicken rice also has a flavor that rivals the demi-glace sauce, making it incredibly delicious.
First of all, please try eating it without opening it all up.
Hamburg steak with demi-glace sauce (1,980 yen)
Speaking of Western food, we also had the hamburger steak, which is equally as popular as the omurice. In addition to the soup, it comes with bread or rice.
For a little extravagance, you can also add a "Fried Shrimp x 1" (400 yen). Other toppings available are "Crab Cream Croquette x 1" (400 yen), "Minced Mince Cutlet x 1" (400 yen), and "Fried Chicken x 2" (400 yen). You can add these to any lunch.
The hamburger steak is coarsely ground and has a very satisfying texture. The meaty flavor is irresistible!
The more you chew, the more the meat juices overflow in your mouth, and it goes without saying that it goes perfectly with the demi-glace sauce.
Enjoy it with the accompanying vegetables and mashed potatoes.
The fried shrimp was also very plump and delicious!
This time, I ordered the "C Set" which comes with salad, drink, and dessert. The salad and dessert change daily, and the drink can be chosen from ginger ale, melon soda, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, or tea.
The dessert for the day was chocolate mousse. It was fluffy and melted in your mouth, but left a lingering aftertaste! It was the perfect dessert to end the meal.
There are still more attractive lunch options
I'll also introduce the remaining six lunch options.
Pork Ginger (1,580 yen)
The pork ginger is served with soup and bread or rice.
It is topped with a generous amount of ginger sauce that goes well with rice, and the thickness of the pork is great.
Land-style Neapolitan (1,380 yen)
Our original Neapolitan pasta is topped with special ketchup and is full of ingredients. The golden fried egg on the edge gives it a nostalgic feel.
Wagyu beef tongue stew (5,200 yen)
This is also a proud dish that uses a generous amount of their proud demi-glace sauce, "Wagyu Tongue Stew." It comes with bread or rice.
It's a bit pricey for lunch, but it's perfect as a treat or for an anniversary.
Other dishes include the "Plate Lunch" (1,480 yen) which includes popular dishes such as fried shrimp, hamburger steak, gratin, and fried chicken, the "Mixed Fry Set Meal" (1,780 yen) which includes fried shrimp, minced meat cutlet, cream crab croquette, and fried fish of the day, and the "European-style pork loin cutlet curry" (2,480 yen) topped with a large cutlet.
I want to try all of them♡
In the evening, you can enjoy a la carte as well as course meals.
