Highly praised by gourmets! A popular French restaurant worth visiting for a "treat dinner" (Kajimachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.
This time, we will introduce you to some special restaurants where you can enjoy a treat dinner.
Jean Pierre, a hidden French restaurant that you can be proud of just for knowing about it (Kajimachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Jean Pierre is located about a 5-minute walk from JR Kokura Station.
This is a talented French restaurant that has been featured in the "Michelin Guide Fukuoka/Saga 2014 Special Edition" and the "Michelin Guide Fukuoka/Saga/Nagasaki 2019 Special Edition."
Owner Chef Yamazaki began his culinary career at the age of 18, training at famous hotels in Fukuoka and Michelin-star restaurants in Tokyo before going independent at the age of 27.
When Jean-Pierre opened in 2012, its gorgeous dishes and authentic flavors attracted attention and it quickly became a popular restaurant.
A hideaway space on the second floor of the building.
The interior of the restaurant has a chic and calm atmosphere, making it perfect for anniversaries.
In addition to table and counter seats, there are also private rooms.
Be amazed by the beautiful colors and flavors! "Omakase Course" available for one person
Jean Pierre's Chef's Choice Course is available in four types: 8,800 yen, 11,000 yen, 13,000 yen, and 15,000 yen. It uses carefully selected seasonal ingredients and is available for one person.
This time, I ordered 8,800 yen.
I'll tell you what I ate that day.
Amuse
The Indian pastry was cut in half and topped with cauliflower mousse, blue crab and red sea urchin.
On top of that is a jelly made from kelp and 3% salt to resemble seawater.
I was captivated by the surprising combination and deliciousness.
Crab miso bagna cauda
The second dish was "Crab Miso Bagna Cauda." It was so beautiful that it made my heart flutter from the moment it was brought to me!
It is packed with vegetables, including those from Itoshima. On this day, there were peppers, tomatoes, young corn, zucchini, and red shigure radish.
The sauce does not contain anchovies, but instead uses crab miso to add depth to the flavor.
The garlic from Aomori was also extremely flavorful and incredibly tasty, bringing out the deliciousness of the vegetables.
Tuna cheeks with tartare sauce
The third dish is "Tuna cheek meat tartare". The gorgeous presentation is captivating.
It's topped with plenty of homemade dried mullet roe!
The harmony of chewy tuna, spicy grilled eggplant puree, and honey and balsamic sauce is irresistible.
Baked sweet potato potage
The fourth dish is "roasted sweet potato potage." From the moment it is brought to the table, your anticipation for the first bite grows.
Smooth and creamy! The rich flavor of roasted sweet potato spreads throughout your mouth, making this a truly delicious dish.
I also enjoyed the variety of textures, from the fluffy foam, the crispy chips hidden underneath, and the smooth soup.
French Roast Duck
The main dish is the French Roast Duck, a must-try if you visit Jean Pierre.
The skin is baked crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy.
The sauce, which also uses duck blood, brings out the flavor of the juicy duck meat even more. It was incredibly delicious.
In addition to the items introduced above, dessert and coffee are also included.
From start to finish, the food was a feast for both the eyes and the tongue.
