Have you heard of "Itoshima Shokudo," the famous restaurant that is known for its seafood bowls in Itoshima?

The main store was originally located along the coast in Imazu, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City, but will relocate and reopen in the Gafuri area of Itoshima City in October 2022.

We'll introduce you to the even more appealing aspects of this popular restaurant, which has lines even on weekdays.

The relocated "Itoshima Shokudo Main Store" is located in Kamiari Nishi 2-chome, Itoshima City.

The parking lot is right in front of the store. If it is full, you can use the second parking lot behind the store. It is a 7-minute walk from JR Chikuhi Line Kafuri Station (Exit 1), so you can also get there by public transportation.

I visited the restaurant at 10:30am on a weekday, 30 minutes before opening time, but there were already eight groups waiting. At opening time, there were more than 20 groups of people lined up behind me, so if you don't want to wait in line, it might be best to arrive early.

It's still as popular as ever.

I was also happy that there was free tea available to drink while waiting in line.

After waiting for about 20 minutes, we went inside! The turnover was quicker than I expected.

Inside the restaurant, there are counter seats in the center and tatami seating and table seats along the wall.

To order, you scan a QR code with your smartphone. If you pay by credit card, you can even pay with the same QR code. Of course, you can also pay at the register (cash/electronic money).

Delicious! Try the seafood bowl and chawanmushi

The menu has just under 30 types of "donburi" (rice bowls) including seafood, meat, and limited items that are only available when they arrive. In addition, there are several other dishes such as chawanmushi and fries.

This time, I ordered the "Seafood Bowl" (2,000 yen), the "Sweet Shrimp Bowl" (1,600 yen), and the "Seafood Chawanmushi" (500 yen), which was recommended to me as a "must-try if you go to Itoshima Shokudo!!"

I was surprised at how quickly it took from ordering to receiving the food!

The moment it's placed on the table, you know it's definitely going to be delicious. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks so, as I hear exclamations of "Wow!" from all around.

It's overflowing with seafood.

There were 3, 4, 5... 8 different kinds! They're all about the size that I, an adult male, could probably hold in one hand, but they're voluminous and very satisfying.

Even so, the sashimi was so fresh that it was almost overwhelming.

The miso soup that comes with the seafood bowl is just a bonus, but it's so delicious that it's worth coming just for the miso soup!

There are more ingredients than I expected! The fish stock is really tasty and makes it very comforting.

After that, you can choose your favorite sauce from the three on the table. You can also try a little of each and enjoy comparing the tastes.

I opened and closed it about three times before eating it, enjoying the sensation.

Shrimp, sea urchin, crab, salmon roe... it was filled with seafood, just like a treasure box. I was constantly impressed.

It's a little pricey for lunch, but it's worth going and waiting in line. Whatever you order, you won't be disappointed.
