Freshly fried, crispy, delicious tempura at a reasonable price! A new and noteworthy restaurant in Kurume that you'll definitely want to come back to!
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
Have you ever suddenly had a craving for tempura?
One day, while I was driving through Kurume with that feeling in mind, I discovered a wonderful shop.
Opening in July 2023 along National Route 3! "Tempura Mitsuyasu" (Kurume City) where you can enjoy freshly fried tempura at reasonable prices
Tempura Mitsuyasu opened in Kamitsucho, Kurume City on July 18, 2023.
The location is along National Route 3, on the site of the former Niku Udon Inoue Kurume Kamitsu store, which closed in May 2023.
The interior of the restaurant is based on white and has a clean feel. You buy a meal ticket from the ticket machine at the entrance and order, but you can also decide after looking at the menu at your table.
There are tables, counters, and tatami rooms available for seating, so it seems like it can be used by individuals or families depending on the situation.
Here is the set meal menu.
The recommended "Tempura Set Meal (shrimp, white fish, squid, and 3 kinds of vegetables)" (780 yen) is the most recommended, but the most luxurious option is the "Luxury Set Meal" (1,480 yen).
It's so reasonably priced! It's a great way to treat yourself to a little something from your regular lunch.
Click here for the tempura bowl menu.
This is also available starting from the "Tendon" (780 yen), with the most expensive being the "Luxurious Tendon" (1,480 yen).
There are also a la carte menu items, so you may want to order more later. I highly recommend ordering the "Shiokara squid" (100 yen).
This is more satisfying than you'd expect! The "Luxurious Tendon" is full of large ingredients and is very filling.
This is the "Luxurious Tendon" (1,480 yen). It comes with two large shrimp, whiting, conger eel, scallop, soft-boiled egg, and three kinds of vegetable tempura, and miso soup.
The towering shrimp tempura is so beautiful that it makes your mouth water.
The shrimp are firm and meaty, and so thick that it's difficult to eat.
The scallops are also chunky and thick.
The flounder tempura was crispy and as you can see, it was quite large in size.
It doesn't have the typical fishy smell, and the deliciousness and appeal of the white fish is fully revealed.
Just take a look. Conger eel tempura doesn't fit in the frame of a photo.
I think this alone would be enough to fill me up.
They also have tempura with perilla leaves and soft-boiled eggs, so you'll never get tired of eating them. Best of all, they're all freshly fried so they're nice and crispy! The portions were very filling and the satisfaction level exceeded my expectations. I think it's great value for money.
Because we want you to eat it freshly fried! A set menu that serves tempura in two batches
Let me also introduce the "Mitsuyasu Set Meal" (880 yen). It comes with freshly fried tempura of shrimp, whiting, thigh, soft-boiled egg, and three kinds of vegetables, as well as rice and miso soup. What's more, you can have as much rice as you want for free. *The "shiokara squid" in the photo below is a separate order.
It is served with tempura sauce containing grated daikon radish.
We also recommend using curry salt available on the table.
I was impressed by how sweet the carrot tempura was, and with a sprinkle of curry salt it became the perfect companion to eating rice.
This shrimp tempura is also so big that the whole thing doesn't fit in the frame of the photo.
The moment I took a bite, I felt such a strong impact that I thought something had hit me.
It was more than just plump; it was bouncing around.
Shall we have some eggplant tempura as well?
The way the flavor seeps in and the fluffy texture is something I'll miss more and more in the coming season.
Oh, I forgot. Speaking of tempura, I can't forget this partner. It's "Shiokara squid" that I ordered as a single item.
Personally, I think eggplant or pumpkin tempura tastes best when topped with shiokara.
The sweetness of the vegetables and the gentle saltiness of the shiokara are perfectly combined, it's so delicious I'm at a loss for words.
I wondered what soft-boiled egg tempura was, and imagined a soft-boiled egg on top of ramen...
Is this even possible? It's almost a raw egg, so I wonder how they make tempura out of it.
You can eat it on top of rice, or pour some tempura sauce over it and enjoy it like a luxurious bowl of raw egg on rice.
Finally, we have some chicken tempura. Of course, we have tempura sauce.
Wow! This is great. I was right to save it for last.
This restaurant's set menu has a fantastic system where the tempura is served in two batches so that it doesn't get cold, allowing you to enjoy it hot and fresh until the very last bite.
It's been a while since I've enjoyed tempura, but this is a highly recommended restaurant!
