Kinokuniya, a popular supermarket that stocks carefully selected high-quality products not only from Japan but also from all over the world, is opening its first store in Kyushu!

It has opened as "KINOKUNIYA Iwataya Main Store" on the food floor on the first basement floor of the main building of "Iwataya Main Store."

In addition to Kinokuniya's own products, the store also carries food products unique to Fukuoka that make use of the region's characteristics, such as baked goods and bread delivered directly from the central kitchen in Mitaka, Tokyo.

Kinokuniya's largest eco-friendly bag section "think...ECOLOGY bags＆more"

The highlight of this opening is the new eco-bag section, "think...ECOLOGY bags & more," which will offer Kinokuniya's largest selection of eco-bags ever!

There will be over 120 bags available, including the extremely popular "Ecology Bag" (a long-selling item since 1995!), which is what many people first think of when they think of Kinokuniya. Some of the items are exclusive to Iwataya Main Store!

The first permanent department store to feature an in-store kitchen

Kinokuniya's specialty "Apple Pie" (No. 5, 972 yen) and bread are baked in the kitchen, so you can purchase them "freshly baked"!

Let me introduce the products I purchased today.

This is the "Special Black Pork Minced Cutlet Sandwich" (454 yen). This is a luxurious dish of "minced cutlet" made with black pork from Kagoshima Prefecture and domestic onions, sandwiched between "rich milk bread" made without water and using only milk and dairy products.

The minced pork cutlet has the texture of onion and is juicy and full of the flavor of black pork. It is thick and satisfying, and very delicious♪ There are also other dishes such as the "Pork Cutlet Sandwich" (465 yen) and the "Shrimp Pork Cutlet Sandwich" (497 yen).

This is the recommended product from our staff, "Rayu Senbei" (399 yen). It is said to have received the highest three-star rating in the "International Taste Institute 2023" Superior Taste Award.

The slightly sweet shrimp crackers and the spicy chili oil add a sweet and spicy flavor. The crunchy texture is also fun ♪ The garlic flavor is also effective, and it's so delicious that you won't be able to stop eating!

Another popular item is the "Custard Pudding" (259 yen). This product won the top prize in the sweets category at the "Bento and Side Dish Awards 2023" (Japan Supermarket Association).
