Enjoy a relaxing time even with your children! "You'll definitely be satisfied" - An Italian restaurant highly recommended by gourmet writers (Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious food.
We will introduce you to a cafe restaurant where you can relax and enjoy delicious Italian food with your partner, friends, or even children.
For those who want to have a relaxing meal with their children, the cafe restaurant "THE 157 (The Ichigo Nana)" (Koshiki Hibikino, Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City) is a must-see
THE 157 (The Ichigo Nana) is located on the first floor of an apartment building in Hibikino, Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City.
The inside of the restaurant is spacious and very open! To the right as you enter are the table seats, separated by roller curtains.
There is a gentle slope on the left, and when you go down it you will find a large space lined with tables.
There are counter seats available, and when you sit down you can see directly into the spacious kids' space, so you can relax and enjoy your meal while keeping an eye on your children.
The kids' space is filled with exciting toys for children, including a toy kitchen and an invader game!
It's also very helpful that there are separate spaces for adults only and for those with children.
By the way, the "157" in the store name is actually the store's address. It's interesting that the temporary name they used before opening ended up becoming the store's name.
Lunch, dinner, and kids' menu available! A taste review of the recommended "share course" that is sure to leave you completely satisfied
You can enjoy both lunch and dinner at "THE157". Lunch options include pizza, pasta, and meals such as "Roast Beef DON" (1,680 yen). Kids' menu items include "Curry Plate" (650 yen) and "Kids Potatoes" (250 yen).
Dinnertime offers a la carte dishes and courses (starting from 2,200 yen). This time, I wanted to eat pasta and pizza, so I ordered the "Standard Share Course" (3,280 yen per person), which allows two people to share both dishes.
Today's Salad
The salad always uses more than 15 different kinds of vegetables, mostly from Wakamatsu.
The dressing is also homemade, made from seven types of vegetables and special seasonings.
On the day I went, the meal consisted of thinly sliced mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, pumpkin salad, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, etc. It was very filling. It was so delicious that I ate it all up in no time.
5 kinds of hors d'oeuvres
The hors d'oeuvres are an assortment of the day's recommendations, designed to suit the preferences of those ordering the shared course, allowing them to enjoy a variety of dishes, even if only a little at a time.
On this day, the menu consisted of oeuf mayonnaise, roast beef, pickles, marinated persimmon and prosciutto, and carrot and purple cabbage slaw.
All the dishes are perfect for drinking. The mayonnaise sauce from Oefumayo was irresistible. It was a very luxurious dish with a variety of ingredients.
soup
The soup changes daily. It's made with seasonal vegetables from Wakamatsu, and on the day I went it was sweet potato potage. The smooth, gently sweet warm soup is comforting.
Pasta selection
You can choose from eight different types of pasta, including today's pasta (one plate for two people).
This time, we chose "Shrimp and Pistachio Genovese"! This is a popular pasta dish on the menu at THE 157, with the delicious shrimp that can be eaten with the skin on, and the fragrant chunks of pistachios that are added to it.
Other flavors available include pomodoro, cream sauce, Neapolitan, and peperoncino.
Choose your pizza
You can also choose from five different pizzas (one plate for two people). You can also choose two of your favorite types to have half and half, so I chose the "Margherita" and "Smoked Salmon Baby Leaf"!
The dough is made individually after an order is placed, and it is chewy and delicious. There are also plenty of toppings.
Today's Dessert
After the meal, you will be served a mini version of the dessert of the day. On this day, it was chocolate terrine and cheesecake.
For an additional 1,100 yen (price varies depending on the design), you can upgrade to a dessert plate, perfect for celebrations. This time, a family member's birthday was coming up, so we chose a "Happy Birthday" plate! We celebrated with fireworks and candles.
It's a very nice service ♡
After-meal drinks
It's also nice that coffee or tea is served at the end.
In addition to the course, on this day I ordered "Strawberry Squash" (550 yen) and "Lemon Squash" (530 yen) as drinks to accompany my meal.
Take-out menu also available
A frozen takeaway menu was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and has become a staple. It is available for purchase inside the store and in a vending machine outside.
Before going on sale, they made many prototypes, and when they first went on sale, they were able to sell 1,000 meals in one month, making it a memorable product for them.
Menu items available for purchase in the store include pasta dishes such as "Pomodoro," "Pistachio Genovese," and "Shrimp and Mushroom Cream Sauce," pizzas such as "Margherita" and "Four Kinds of Cheese," a la carte dishes such as "Shrimp and Mushroom Ajillo," "Chicken Curry," and "Beef Cheek Braised in Red Wine," and even desserts.
This year marks the fifth year since the store opened, and the owner says, "I'm always thinking about how to make the store a place that's loved by the local community." Be sure to stop by. (Text by ayu.latte)
