Impressed by the thick roast beef and pork! A popular lunch buffet at a long-established hotel in Kokura (Kitakyushu City)
Hello, this is Yuri.
I moved to Fukuoka two years ago, and every day is still new to me. I enjoy going out to all kinds of places with my children.
This time, I went to the lunch buffet at Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa in Furusenba-cho, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City.
Let me introduce it to you right away.
An 8-minute walk from JR Kokura Station! An urban oasis with a 2300m2 garden: Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa (Kitakyushu City, Kokurakita Ward, Furuseba-cho)
Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa is located a 2-minute walk from Kitakyushu Monorail's Tanga Station and an 8-minute walk from JR Kokura Station.
Amazingly, the hotel grounds feature a 2300m2 Japanese garden that boasts over 130 years of history!
It's so vast you wouldn't believe it's in the city!
You will be overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery.
At night, it is lit up, creating a romantic atmosphere that is completely different from the daytime.
Enjoy Japanese and Western cuisine and sweets while gazing at the beautiful garden! A popular lunch buffet that requires reservations
All Day Dining Shizuku, located on the first floor of Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa, is a buffet restaurant that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from children to the elderly.
You can enjoy sumptuous Japanese and Western cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, hotel sweets, and more, all in buffet format, to your heart's content.
The lunch buffet is served for 90 minutes from 11:30 to 13:30 (last entry) on weekdays, and in two sessions from 11:30 to 13:00 and 13:10 to 14:40 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The price is 3,300 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for elementary school students, 900 yen for preschoolers, and free for children under 3 years old.
It's very popular, especially on weekends, so we recommend making a reservation.
You can enjoy an elegant meal while looking out at the beautiful Japanese garden.
Baby bouncers and high chairs are also available, so even those with small children can use the facility with peace of mind.
Since we visited on a Sunday lunchtime, there was already a huge queue before we even got in!
It is truly a long-established hotel that represents Kokura.
Upon entering the restaurant and heading to the buffet corner, you'll be amazed at the variety of items on offer. There are apparently about 50 different types of Japanese and Western food, desserts, and drinks!
Here are some of the dishes that were on offer (the dishes may change depending on the season).
Freshly fried, crispy "Tempura".
Fresh "sushi".
Healthy and filling "Steamed Chicken and Vermicelli with Two Kinds of Sesame Dressing."
Children also love the "Colorful Corn Vermicelli Salad."
A variety of original dishes are available, including "Shrimp and Yuzu Mozuku," "Korean-style soft-boiled egg," and "Cold eel chawanmushi."
Pasta and cold pumpkin soup that will have you coming back for more.
"Shrimp dumplings" and "fish balls" are also available. You can tell that each dish is carefully made.
There is also plenty of salad.
I'm happy that they have a good balance of Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine!
The wide range of items on offer will get you excited!
In order to complete the whole set, you have to be careful about the portion size (laughs).
Among the dishes we would like to recommend is the most popular, "Roast Beef & Roast Pork."
As it is the hotel's signature dish, it literally disappears in a flash.
In fact, when I went to get it about 10 minutes after it started, the beef was out of stock and there were only a few pieces of pork left... But don't worry, they'll replenish it right away. By the way, the photo was taken after they had replenished it (lol).
Perhaps because I had a hard time getting my hands on it, I was impressed with the taste when I actually tried it! And the thing about it is how thick it is!
You might be disappointed if it's too thinly sliced, but with this much filling food, there's no way it won't satisfy both your stomach and your heart!
The combination with onion sauce is perfect!
It was so delicious that I ended up ordering it again and again.
Another great thing about this buffet is the wide variety of sweets available.
A wide selection of cakes, mousses, mille crepes, cream puffs and more!
This is a cute looking jelly.
They all look so delicious that I can't stop smiling.
There was also ice cream, which the kids love, so they were very happy.
My daughters, who are now preschoolers and already love sweets, were also very satisfied.
The mousse in particular was soft and smooth, making me feel very happy.
The purple drink in the back of the photo is "Grape & Berry Vinegar." It has a refreshing and healthy taste and is one of my favorite drinks.
A lunch buffet is perfect for special occasions or as a little treat. Why not come and enjoy a luxurious time? (Text by Yuri-chan)
