A new standard Tenjin souvenir! Over 40 varieties of exquisite Danish pastries at "Danish Specialty Shop" (Nishinakasu, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce a Danish specialty store that opened on October 13, 2023!
400 pieces sold out in 2 hours! Miyazaki's popular Danish specialty store "DE・NI" opens in Nishinakasu (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)
DE・NI is a take-out Danish pastry shop located right next to Tenjin Central Park in Nishinakasu, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.
The main store is located in Miyazaki, and is said to be so popular that they once sold out 400 pieces in just two hours.
At the "Fukuoka Nishinakasu store," there are always more than 40 kinds of Danish pastries lined up in the display case. The bottom two shelves are the standard items, and the top shelf has items that change with the seasons.
The Danish pastry dough is made with great care, and in order to maintain the same crispy texture even after a day, the flour mixture and the amount of water were carefully trial and errored.
The multi-layered dough is incredibly crispy!
Danish pastries come in a variety of styles, including fresh fruit, compote, cream, and savory.
The filling changes to match the fruit and other toppings, and apparently combines two types of homemade cream, including custard cream, sour cream, mascarpone cream, and butter cream.
Let me introduce the Danishes that I actually tried!
The crunchy texture is irresistible ♡ "Danish" enjoyed with carefully selected fruits and homemade cream
Fresh fruit
First, we will introduce fresh fruit danishes. The fruits are carefully selected by staff who have experience in the fruit and vegetable wholesale business, with the concept of "delicious local produce in season."
This is the "Strawberry Danish" (480 yen), a seasonal item.
The dough is filled with mascarpone cream and custard cream, giving it a sweet taste with a hint of cheese flavor.
It went really well with the sweet and sour strawberries and was very delicious.
This is the "Shine Muscat Danish" (530 yen), a seasonal item.
This one also has mascarpone cream and custard cream inside the dough.
The bursting, juicy sweetness of the Shine Muscat grapes was irresistible.
This is the "Citron Danish" (380 yen).
The honey-soaked lemon slices were delicious, even with the skin on. Inside was mascarpone cream and custard cream. The refreshing flavor of the lemon combined for a light, refreshing taste.
This is "Kiwi Danish" (450 yen).
The kiwi fruit has a refreshing sweetness, and the cream and custard cream inside the dough are well balanced with the sweetness of the kiwi fruit.
This is the "Blueberry Danish" (430 yen).
The mascarpone cream and custard cream had a mellow, slightly sour taste, and the crisp, popping texture and sweet and sour taste of the blueberries were fantastic.
This is the "Mixed Fruit Danish" (430 yen).
A luxurious fruit tart topped with strawberries, oranges, and pineapples.
The combination of slightly thick milky cream and custard cream went perfectly with the freshness of the fruit.
Compote
Next, we'll introduce you to compote-style Danish pastries.
This is "Strawberry Compote" (420 yen).
It was full of chunks of fruit, and had a great texture and sweet and sour taste. The inside was filled with sour cream and custard cream, and it was so luxurious it felt like eating a strawberry shortcake.
This is "Gorogoro Peach Compote" (450 yen).
The cream is a mix of mascarpone cream and custard cream. It has just the right texture and the sweetness of the peach that spreads with every bite is irresistible.
Cream
The last thing we'd like to introduce is cream-based Danish pastries.
This is the "Anko Butter Danish" (320 yen).
The bean paste made from Hokkaido red beans goes perfectly with the rich sweetness and saltiness of the butter, making for an unbeatable combination. It is also topped with butter cream, and the melting sweetness was irresistible.
This is the "Pistachio Danish" (480 yen).
The pistachio cream, made from roasted pistachios, is combined with sour cream, giving it a citrus flavor.
The pistachio flavor was strong, but not too rich, with a subtle sweetness.
This is the "Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc Danish" (530 yen).
The Japanese chestnut cream, which is generously squeezed on top, has a mellow flavor. The dough is baked with a layer of almond cream, and then topped with butter cream.
This is the "Matcha Azuki Danish" (350 yen).
The rich and fragrant matcha cream is combined with red bean paste and shiratama (rice flour dumplings). It is especially recommended for those who like Japanese sweets.
This is the "Strawberry Milk Danish" (380 yen).
The gentle milk-flavored cream is accented with the sweet and sour taste of strawberries.
This is the "Beni Haruka Salt Sweet Potato Danish" (320 yen), a seasonal item.
It was full of smooth, sweet sweet potato, and had a sprinkling of salt on top, which added a nice accent.
This is "Cleo Chocolat (Rock Salt)" (320 yen).
It is filled with chocolate cream made with couverture chocolate, which tastes like raw chocolate. It has a deep sweetness and a slight bitterness, and goes well with the custard underneath.
All of them were made with great care and were delicious. I couldn't help but want to eat more than one.
Perfect for yourself or as a gift.
