What is "60DAYS Chocolate"? [Ministop] New soft serve ice cream and sweets

I'm Masayo Sakamoto, a writer who loves convenience store sweets.

This time, we will introduce new soft serve ice cream and sweets made with Vietnamese cocoa, released by Ministop in late October 2023.

A must-see for chocolate lovers ♡

Special sweets made with Vietnamese "60DAYS Chocolate"

The sweets we are introducing this time use "60DAYS Chocolate," which is made into chocolate within 60 days of harvesting in Vietnam, a cacao producing region.

It can take up to two years from harvesting the cacao beans to turning them into chocolate, so you can really tell how fresh it is.

"60DAYS Chocolate" is characterized by its ability to allow you to enjoy the fruity aroma, flavor, and acidity of fresh cacao.

They also take part in sustainable initiatives, such as providing technical support to cocoa producers and giving a portion of their sales back to cocoa producers and rural areas.

1. "Premium Chocolat Soft" - Enjoy the rich flavor of cacao

First up is the "Premium Chocolat Soft Serve" (421 yen), which was released on October 27th.

The "Fragrant Vietnamese Cocoa Chocolate Soft Serve" (313 yen), released at the same time, is topped with chocolate Mont Blanc sauce and raw chocolate warabimochi, making it a dessert that is completely chocolate in appearance.

The "Fragrant Vietnamese Cacao Chocolate Soft Serve" has a mellow sweetness with a hint of cacao bitterness. It also has a fruity sourness, leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

Combined with the rich and flavorful chocolate Mont Blanc sauce, it creates just the right balance.

The warabimochi topped with raw chocolate has a refreshing taste with a slight chocolate aroma.

When you eat it with the cocoa chocolate soft serve and sauce, it feels like you're tasting a completely different dessert, and it feels like you're getting a good deal.

You can choose a cup, but we recommend the waffle cone, which has a fragrant cultured butter flavor.

It comes with an "eating spoon" so you can enjoy it all to the last bite without wasting anything, making it a very satisfying dish.

For those who want to fully enjoy cacao chocolate soft serve, we also recommend the "Tokumori Soft Serve Fragrant Vietnamese Cacao Chocolate Soft Serve" (421 yen).

2. "Vietnamese cacao chocolate tart" with a delicious raw chocolate flavor

This is the "Vietnamese Cocoa Chocolate Tart" (237 yen), which was released on October 31st.

The palm-sized, cocoa-flavored tart base is topped with financier-style dough and Vietnamese chocolate sauce.

The chocolate sauce has an authentic taste of cacao that spreads the flavor of the cacao the moment you put it in your mouth. The rich, bitter chocolate has a fruity aroma and melts in your mouth just like raw chocolate.

In addition, the moist, almond-scented financier-style dough and gently sweet tart dough enhance the flavor of the chocolate sauce.

The elegant and rich taste makes it a great accompaniment to coffee.

The different textures of each layer were enjoyable, so I ate it with gusto and finished it in no time.

3. Melty-Cream "Vietnamese Cacao Chocolate Cream Puff"

Lastly, we have the "Vietnamese Cocoa Chocolate Cream Puff" (213 yen), which was released on October 31st.

The light and fluffy choux pastry and the creamy chocolate cream both melt in your mouth, making for a perfect combination.

You can also enjoy the rich aroma of cacao.

You can enjoy the chocolate to your heart's content. It's also great value for money, so it's a product you'll want to buy again and again.

Ministop's new sweets allow you to enjoy plenty of special chocolate. Be sure to give them a try. (Text by Masayo Sakamoto)
