[3-minute walk from Kokura Station] Only available now! Popular cafe's delicious sweet potato desserts (Kyomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

I was born and raised in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka! My name is Nami and I love good food and going out, and I also run a blog.

This time, we will introduce some popular cafes in Kokura.

GALVA, a stylish cafe just a 3-minute walk from JR Kokura Station (Kyomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

GALVA is a cafe that opened in 2019, located in Kyomachi Gintengai, a 3-minute walk from JR Kokura Station.

Look for the pink door.

You order on the first floor first, then move to your preferred seat.

There are counter seats and table seats on the first floor. The walls and tables are decorated with dried flowers, which makes it very stylish.

On the second floor, there are three sets of sofa seats for two, one set of seats for four, a tatami space in the back where you can sit and relax, and one private room that can be used for birthday celebrations or as a study space.

The sofa seats are separated by chiffon curtains in soft colors, creating a semi-private space.

It's also nice that you can use the blankets freely. It's a wonderful store that shows the kind considerations that are perfect for the coming season ♡

A wide selection of eye-catching sweets♡

The menu is full of items that match the atmosphere of the store, such as "shaved ice" that can be eaten all year round, "croiffle (drink included)" that has a range of sweets and meals, "cake (single item/drink set)", and "zenzai" that is only available in winter.

On the day I visited, there were four different types of popular "Croiffles" available, including the "Strawberry" (1,700 yen) with a strawberry-flavored rare cheesecake sandwich, and the "Bacon and Egg" (1,500 yen), which features a perfect combination of salty bacon and cheese.

Currently, the "Mont Blanc Crawl Waffle" (1,800 yen) is also available as an autumn item. You can choose from dozens of drinks to go with the set.

We also recommend making your own original shaved ice using an espuma cooking tool that can turn any ingredient into a mousse-like foam.

Check it out! Limited-time sweets

After much deliberation, I decided to order the limited-time sweet "Sweet Potato Cheesecake," which will be available until the end of December 2023, with a drink set (1,300 yen *cake alone is 970 yen). The cake set comes with a set of potato chips. I chose "iced coffee" as the drink for the set.

The space is so cute with dried flowers and curtains, so even just taking normal photos looks great ♡

When I put my fork into it, it felt so heavy I wondered if it was really a cake. It felt so heavy I thought I was cutting a baked sweet potato.

If you look closely, you'll see that it has two layers, top and bottom!

It is divided into a layer of cheesecake containing sweet potato and a layer of sweet potato.

The smooth cheesecake and sweet potato bun, which lets you directly taste the sweetness of the sweet potato, fill your mouth with happiness when you eat the two layers at the same time. It's a truly exquisite dessert.
