This time, we will introduce a restaurant in Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City that serves the delicious "Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban."

Large portions and great value for money! A restaurant with a wide variety of set meals on the menu: "Takamotoya Kokura Higashi Branch, Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban Set Meal" (Kutami Nishi, Kokura Minami Ward, Kitakyushu City)

A 13-minute walk from JR Nippō Main Line Kusami Station, along National Route 10, is the Kusami Umaimono Market, where you'll find Takamotoya Kokura Higashi, a restaurant serving Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban Set Meals.

There is a free parking lot shared with the shops in the market with space for approximately 80 cars.

Takamotoya is a chicken nanban specialty restaurant that opened in Kumamoto in 2017. You can enjoy their special chicken nanban, which is characterized by a crispy, non-greasy batter made from rice flour and a sweet and spicy sauce made from nutritious black vinegar. They have stores all over Kyushu, but the Kokura Higashi store is the only one in Kitakyushu.

When you enter the store, you will be greeted by the delicious aroma of black vinegar.

There are seven seats at the counter, two sets of two-seater tables, and three sets of four to six-seater tables, making it an easy place to use for both single people and large groups.

First, purchase a meal ticket.

The menu is extensive, and when I was wondering what to order, the staff kindly advised me, "The recommended dish is the black vinegar chicken nanban," and "If you want to try a variety of dishes, I recommend the half order." I felt the warmth of the restaurant!

Great value for money! Crispy batter and juicy meat make this a delicious "Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban Set Meal"

This time I chose the "Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban Set Meal" (880 yen with white rice). Normally it comes with white rice, but you can change it to 23 grain rice for +50 yen, or chicken and burdock rice for +100 yen. This time I chose 23 grain rice, so it was 930 yen.

In addition to the black vinegar chicken nanban, the set includes homemade tartar sauce, a large serving of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. You can have as many refills of the rice, miso soup, and homemade tartar sauce as you like, so it's a great value for money meal!

The large black vinegar chicken nanban is freshly fried, piping hot, and super juicy.

The crispy batter and the generous amount of sour black vinegar go perfectly together! It's perfect even without any rice.

Next, add homemade tartar sauce made with Yatsushiro red eggs.

It gives a mellow flavor to the sour chicken nanban!

A half-size meal popular among women! "Healthy set meal of half black vinegar chicken nanban" with minestrone soup and dessert

This is the "Healthy Set Meal with Half Black Vinegar Chicken Nanban" (900 yen). As it is a healthy set meal, it comes with 23 grain rice.

It comes with homemade tartar sauce and minestrone soup, which of course you can have as much as you like!

This great value set also comes with a creme brulee dessert.

The ingredients in the minestrone soup are cut into large pieces, making it very filling! It contains lotus root, zucchini, peppers, and other vegetables.
