The creamy ice cream is melty and delicious! Exquisite pizza at a stylish, inorganic cafe attached to a second-hand clothing store (Tatemachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves cafes and has visited over 1,700 in total.
This time, we will introduce you to a cool cafe located in Tatemachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City.
A must-see for fashionable people who love vintage clothing! "WALL" - a vintage clothing store and cafe (Tatemachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
WALL, which opened in September 2022, is located about a 7-minute walk from JR Nishi-Kokura Station and Riverwalk Kitakyushu.
This sign along the road is the landmark.
This shop is a combination of a second-hand clothing store and a cafe. Some people may be hesitant to enter a second-hand clothing store, so the cafe was set up to remove that "wall." It's true that a cafe makes it easier to enter.
Apparently they sometimes hold collaborative events combining vintage clothing and cafes.
The interior of the store is based on silver, giving it an inorganic image. It's stylish and very cool!
In addition to counter seats, there are two steel tables.
The table tops are made of glass over a wire mesh, which shows the owner's sense of style.
The interior of the store is very cozy, with green and wooden furniture perfectly blending in with the inorganic atmosphere.
At the back is the exhibition space for second-hand clothes, where the owner has lined up second-hand clothes and shoes he has purchased both domestically and abroad.
I visited the museum with my grown son that day, and he couldn't help but exclaim, "Everything is so cool!"
The signature menu item is our carefully selected "pizza" with eight different varieties to choose from!
The cafe's signature dish is pizza!
There are eight different menu items to choose from, including "Japanese-style whitebait and green onion pizza," "Keema curry pizza," "German potato pizza," "Japanese-style rice cake and green onion pizza," "White sauce pizza" (850 yen each), and "Pepperoni pizza" (800 yen), so it's hard to decide what to order. This time, I ordered two types.
This is the only sweet pizza, "Caramel Honey Cheese" (800 yen), which you can add ice cream as a topping for an additional 100 yen! This pizza is highly recommended by the owner, who has a sweet tooth.
The sweetness of the caramel, honey, and ice cream is accented by the saltiness of the cheese, creating a perfect combination! The heat from the pizza makes the ice cream melt, creating a cute appearance.
The homemade dough was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, and absolutely delicious!
Next up is the savory "Teriyaki Chicken Pizza" (850 yen).
It comes topped with teriyaki chicken, boiled egg, mayonnaise, and shredded seaweed. It's quite filling and perfect for lunch!
The teriyaki chicken is sweet and spicy and delicious, so I couldn't stop eating it and finished it in no time.
Side dishes include fries, fried chicken, and nuggets.
We also recommend the homemade sweets! There is also a wide range of drinks available.
You can also enjoy sweets. This time, I chose the "Chocolate Terrine" (550 yen) with nuts and fresh cream.
This was also homemade. It had a rich and sticky flavor!
Other flavors available include "Basque Cheesecake" (550 yen) and "Oreo Cheesecake" (550 yen, photo below).
There is also a wide variety of drinks on offer, ranging from coffee to soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
These are the "Wiener Coffee" (550 yen) and "Matcha Latte" (550 yen). The Wiener Coffee was the best for me, who loves fresh cream ♡ The matcha latte was rich and not too sweet, and went perfectly with the cake!
Drinks are available for take-out (hot drinks included, excluding alcohol), so feel free to drop in.
WALL is now in its second year since opening. Why not come and visit this wonderful space where you can enjoy both the cafe and the world of vintage clothing? (Text by ayu.latte)
