[Hakata Station souvenirs] Many new products from all over Japan and Kyushu! A new sweets spot with a wide selection of popular souvenir brands is born
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves the hot topics of Fukuoka.
A new sweets spot, "Ippin Nishidori," opened today, Friday, October 6, 2023, at Hakata Station, the gateway to Kyushu! Seven stores, including the much-anticipated POU UP SHOP, have opened.
This time, I attended the preview held before the grand opening, so I'd like to introduce it to you right away.
Opening today, Friday, October 6th, at Hakata Station! A new sweets spot, "Ippin Nishidori" (Hakataeki Chuo-gai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)
This time, "Ippin Nishidori" has opened in the passageway leading to Myung, next to the central ticket gate inside JR Hakata Station.
When you hear "Ippin Street," you probably think of the area near the Chikushi Exit, where the Shinkansen platforms are located.
To coincide with the opening of "Ippin Nishidori," five stores in the current station zone have been renamed "Ippin Higashidori."
Combined with the existing "Ippin Street" and "Ippin East Street," and the newly opened "Ippin West Street," you can now enjoy shopping at a total of 33 stores!
The first of its kind in the country! New store concept "I'm LILY"
The first new store in the country, "I'm LILY" (business hours: 8:30-20:30).
This is a new brand that was jointly developed and produced for Hakata Station by the company that operates popular Tokyo Station stores such as "The Maple Mania" and "Tokyo Milk Factory," and the company that operates well-known Kyushu stores such as "Kujukushima Senpei Honpo" and "Akai Fuusen."
With the theme of "nut and butter sweets," they sell Western-style sweets that use butter with nuts, chestnuts, etc. This new brand in Hakata is garnering attention.
The logo of a girl with tied hair is very cute as the hairstyle varies depending on the product.
This is the "Lily's Selection S Size" (1,512 yen), which was created to commemorate the opening and contains all of the "I'm LILY" products.
Highly recommended for those who want to try different things!
Butters: The first store in Kyushu!
Butters (business hours 9:30-20:30), which is opening its first store in the Kyushu area, is a craft butter sweets brand that carefully uses by-products from the butter-making process to make its sweets more delicious and sustainable.
There are plenty of irresistible treats for butter lovers, including the "Craft Butter Cake" (1,458 yen for 5 pieces, 2,916 yen for 10 pieces), which has been featured on JAL's domestic first class in-flight meals, and the limited edition "Craft Butter Cake Amaou" (1,080 yen for 3 pieces) which can only be purchased in Hakata.
The first store in Kyushu! "CHEESE CAVERY TOKYO"
CHEESE CAVERY TOKYO, a specialty store for aged cheese confectionery with its main store in Edogawa, Tokyo, is opening its first store in Kyushu (business hours: 8:00-20:30).
They sell rich cheese confections that allow you to enjoy the combination of the Italian designated cheeses "Parmigiano Reggiano" and "Gorgonzola."
Also keep an eye out for the new stick-shaped "Cheesecake" (pack of 5 for 1,620 yen, pack of 8 for 2,592 yen), which will be released nationwide from today, October 6th!
Mikazukiya: Crispy croissants are popular
Mikazukiya is a croissant shop on Ippin Street that has long been extremely popular.
The existing "Ippin Street" store will remain as is, but the second store will be opened! (Business hours: 9:30-20:30)
The croissants, which have a crispy exterior and a moist, refined flavor inside, are each handmade by an artisan.
Since it comes in small packages, it is also popular as a souvenir from Fukuoka.
This is the autumn-only flavor "Marron" (328 yen).
Inside was finely chopped marron glacé, and the rich sweetness of the chestnuts while still retaining their texture gave me the taste of autumn.
