The autumn season, the season of appetites, has arrived! At this time of year, convenience stores are releasing a lot of sweets using ingredients unique to autumn, but the most popular every year are sweets made with sweet potatoes ♡

This time, we tried the new sweet potato desserts that have been on sale at Lawson since Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and would like to introduce them to you.

1. "Sweet Potato Canelé" - Packed with the deliciousness of sweet potatoes

First up is the "Sweet Potato Canelé" (235 yen).

Sweet potato canelés are quite rare, aren't they? I was excited to try it, wondering, "What on earth would it taste like...?"

The canelé is topped with sweet potato cream and diced sweet potatoes. It has a cute round appearance.

When you break it open, you can see that it's the color of sweet potato all the way through! The dough is made with Beni-Azuma paste, which is characterized by its strong sweetness, and you can really taste the potato along with the cream.

When eating store-bought canelés at home, some people bake them in a toaster oven to make the outside crispy, but these canelés are surprisingly crisp even when eaten as is! They're crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and you'll be hooked on the texture!

When you break it open, you'll find it's filled with plenty of sweet potato paste and whipped cream! It also contains large chunks of diced sweet potatoes in syrup.

The mochi had a chewy and creamy texture. I was surprised at how soft it was, almost melting in my mouth.

The sweet potato filling has a smooth texture and goes perfectly with the whipped cream. The fluffy texture of the kanroni also adds a nice accent.

This is a dish that allows you to fully enjoy the deliciousness of sweet potatoes.

3. The dough is filled with sweet potatoes ♡ "Sweet Potato Mochi Roll (Beni Haruka)"

Lastly, here is the "Potato Mochi Texture Roll (Beni Haruka)" (397 yen). It comes with six slices, and the price is great.

This roll cake is made with Beni Haruka sweet potatoes, which are as sweet as honey, and both the dough and cream contain diced sweet potatoes.
