Of course it's delicious! "After becoming a hot topic on social media, it was commercialized" - the exquisite "Dashi-furi Potato" (Naka, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.
This time we will be introducing "Kubara Honke Lalaport Fukuoka Store" located in "Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport Fukuoka" in Naka, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City. Not only does it sell dashi and seasonings, but it also has an event space called "Kuba Lab" where cooking classes are held. What's more, the store also has a permanent kitchen car that sells the "potatoes" that have become a hot topic on social media. Let's take a look!
All Kuhara Honke Group products can be purchased at "Kuhara Honke LaLaport Fukuoka Store" (Naka, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
"Kuhara Honke Lalaport Fukuoka Store" is located in "Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport Fukuoka". It is on the first floor of the Oval Building, the same as "Fukuoka Toy Museum" and "Oval Park". It is also close to "MUJI" on the first floor of the Mall Building.
The origins of the seasoning and food company "Kubara Honke" date back to 1893. It began as a soy sauce brewery that opened in Kuhara Village, Fukuoka, which is now Hisayama Town. For over 130 years since then, the company has been producing a variety of seasonings in Fukuoka and delivering them to all over Japan.
This store carries all the brands of the Kuhara Honke Group, including "Shobouan," "Kayanoya," "Kubara," "Kayanoya Kojikura," and "Hokkaido Ai." It's great to be able to buy so many different products in one store.
The most popular among them is the now nationwide popular "Kayanoya Dashi" (8g x 5 bags 453 yen, 8g x 12 bags 1,069 yen, 8g x 30 bags 2,268 yen). It is a versatile dashi that can be used in any dish.
In addition, there are a variety of other dashi stocks available, including "Reduced-Salt Kayanoya Dashi," "Vegetable Dashi," "Reduced-Salt Vegetable Dashi," "Chicken Dashi," "Dried Niboshi Dashi," "Kombu Dashi," "Shrimp Dashi," and "Special Kayanoya Kiwami Dashi," so you can choose one that suits your purpose and preferences.
Freeze-dried miso soup is easy to make by just pouring in hot water, so it's recommended for people who don't cook much at home or for business trips and travel.
"Spice Curry" (788 yen), released in August this year, contains Kayanoya dashi for the Japanese style and vegetable dashi for the Western style. Since it contains all the necessary seasonings, even beginners to spice curry can easily cook it without any mistakes.
In addition to this store, be sure to check out the products of Kayanoya's specialty koji brand, "Kayanoya Kojigura," which is only sold at certain stores, such as "Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store" and "Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. Store" in Tokyo.
The popular "Uma Koji Miso 35%" (842 yen) and "Kou Koji Miso 45%" (993 yen) are products that use more koji than is contained in regular miso.
In particular, the 45% product is made with an unprecedented ratio of koji, and because of its unmatched sweetness and richness, many repeat customers say, "Once you try it, you can't use anything else."
You can sample all of the products, so if there's anything you're interested in, be sure to ask at the store.
A permanent stand outside the store! A food truck serving the "Dashi-furi Potatoes" that became a hot topic on social media
As you leave the store, there is a permanent food truck on your left. You can buy takeout "Kayanoya's Dashi-furi Potatoes," which were first commercialized after a post on social media!
There are two flavors: the classic "Kayanoya Dashi" (500 yen) and "Vegetable Dashi" (500 yen). This time, we tried them out and compared them. *The plates were used for photography purposes.
First, "Kayanoya Dashi".
The moment you open the bag, the delicious aroma of soup stock hits you...the air feels delicious even before you eat!
The fries are fried after you order, so they're so hot you can't hold them. The potatoes they use are "Hokkai Kogane". They're cut into large pieces, sweet, and you can really taste the potato flavor. The umami of the soup stock is just amazing, and the aroma of grilled flying fish and bonito flakes is irresistible.
Next, we will have "vegetable soup stock".
The sweetness and umami of the vegetables are condensed and it has a deep flavor! It feels a little thicker than "Kayanoya Dashi". It's a consommé-style dashi, so it was popular with my children♪
When comparing the two, it is recommended to start with the "Kayanoya Dashi" version. The dashi is sprinkled directly on the fries, so you can directly taste the deliciousness of the dashi!
Right in front of the food truck is Oval Park, where children can play with fountains and grass, so it would be a great place to relax with a bowl of dashi fries in hand and watch the children play.
Please try these delicious fries. (Text: Hakata Aya.)
